Great job poor nurses
|
The job was so easy and I really enjoyed the people I worked with. But if you get on the night shift nurse’s bad side she makes it a living h*ll for you. She’ll talk bad about you while you’re right in front of her and not answer questions or do in snarkily. If not for her I might not have left.

Great Place to work

This is a great place to work, have been a long term employee and have been given many opportunities for advancement. The management team is there to help when you need it. Whenever I have any questions I feel comfortable going to the management team and getting an answer fairly quickly.
The culture here is very diverse and very open-minded. When I went through my interview I was worried I wouldn't get the job being a non-Catholic. However, I was given an opportunity as was able to run with it.
The hardest part of the job; is when the residents pass away. You grow attached to them and they become your own family. When they pass away it is just as if you have lost your own mother/father/grandmother/grandfather.
The most enjoyable part of the job; I work in an environment where we laugh and have fun, I really enjoy coming to work and being around supportive people. There are so many opportunities for advancement and improvement that the company gives, you just have to ask and they will guide you.

I didn't have any education at St. Anne Home and felt that I had to learn my job on my own. The manager didn't want to teach. I felt very uneasy with my job. There was very little support.

If you are looking for a good job, look elsewhere. St. Anne used to be a great place to work, but it has gone downhill rapidly. The current management regime is running it into the ground and many of the devoted, long term employees have left or are leaving. Favoritism runs rampant and the rules are applied and interpreted on a case-by-case basis, depending on who you are. If the right person likes you, you have nothing to worry about no matter what you do. If the wrong person doesn’t like you, you’ll be miserable. Employees are mostly treated like replaceable equipment, and paid accordingly. They’ll tell you in the interview that there are opportunities for advancement, but once you’re hired you find out that you need a four-year degree to move up. They promise the world and pitch their benefit package, but salary is severely lacking. This was and could be a great job, but until there are major changes, it’s not worth pursuing a career here.

The job itself is easy. The residents are all nice people, Management and communication is what’s lacking in the dietary department. As a former employee I noticed favoritism and little to no communication ever. Many employees I knew were upset with their jobs. Micromanaging employees and negative reinforcement being the solution to small problems weeded many of the good employees away.

good place with strong values

Best part of the job is getting to know the residents. The families are very grateful. Many staff members are friendly and welcoming. Hardest part of the job can be the fast pace. Lots to do but the days go fast. There have been many changes in last few years and new areas are beautiful and very clean. Not like other places. The focus is on treating residents with respect and compassion and it shows. Better benefits than any other place i've been. Free food on special days is nice.

A normal work day was having a task list to complete each day. most days were pretty repetitive in areas to clean. The workplace environment there was pretty relaxed and everybody there was good at communicating.
