The atmosphere was pretty chill and I would have probably stayed on but for the fact that there wasn't any chance for advancement in the position I had. I had good support from colleagues in planning course curricula. As part of the adjunct faculty, the hardest part of the job at the beginning was the overwhelming workload (three classes per semester with a ton of student research papers) and stressful work schedule with low pay and no benefits. It is an excellent place to develop a passion for science. Great Professors with real world experience. The best thing about small colleges in my view. Finance and HR offices have open cubicles as work stations. Overall great benefits and fair compensation. St Edwards University is located on a beautifully landscaped campus. Mature trees and awesome trails to walk on your lunch hour or head out for lunch, 10 minutes from downtown Austin to enjoy a variety of different cuisines.
