Losing its culture

People. The people at Stance are great. Most of the product are made well.
|
People lost importance in favor of profits as the culture evolved. That's turning robotic and sterile. It used to be about the Stance community and how to support one other. These days, the only thing relevant is numbers. The compassion is gone. It is about eliminating someone rather than how to help them get better.

Perpetual "Circling Back"

Store snacks, easy to get hired (no background checks), get to pick the music in the store

Nothing ever gets done at this company the management is always changing (in the last year there has been a new President, 2 different VP of Retail, half the country doesn't even have a regional manager right now and the one they fired was the second one in a year, don't even get me started on store managers) and by the time a manager gets their footing they get fired or fed up and quit. And then they bring in external people instead of promoting within so the new person never knows what's going on because they don't get trained (none of us do). It's so disorganized and the communication is trash no one knows what's going on and no real support just "we'll look into it" and never do. Also a bad company culture with lying managers who play favorites. If you're trying to work for a company you can invest in and actually learn or better yourself and career this isn't the one.

Super chill job, works with any schedule. Doesn't care much about the employees or the managers.

- You get to have a very flexible schedule - Super chill work environment, work with friends - Good discount on nice socks
|
- No pay raise after working there for a whole year. After being promised two raises now, neither has actually happened. The bonus/commission system is tough to meet. So the bonuses are most often not met by associates. The bonus system is their excuse for not giving us a raise but yet it is too hard to hit the goal. - Managers are very poorly trained - Very low accountability and standards for quality work - The clothing has bad quality control and is often sent to us with errors in print and fitment

The managers need real training! They need more power to give their very hard-working employees a raise, especially after spending some time with the company. The bonus system needs to be fixed and made more attainable so we can actually hit our comission goal! Corporate feels far away and out of touch, so they should come spend more time in our store and actually work with us. This would make the stores run smoother and help deliver better training and see all the mistakes they are making over at corporate.
