Managing Freight lines and working on the Dock
|
A typical day would be breaking down freight and loading freight. I learned how to manage my time and manage other people time. Co- workers were great and so was management. Hardest part was always worked holidays. Enjoyable moments are seeing a dock completely full and then at the end of the day nothing left.

I worked for this company for eleven years. It is an outstanding place to work. I had a great experience with all my co-workers; superiors, subordinates and peers.
I supervised a work force of approximately 20 individuals engaged in a fast-paced, high volume consolidation and distribution operation in support of some of the country's largest national retailers.
My team unloaded approximately 40 trailers each day, sorted the trailer contents, segregated the freight by destination location, and processed the paperwork for outbound loading and subsequent dispatch.
The most difficult(and ultimately rewarding) part of my job was to "get it done" when unanticipated work volume arrived to be processed.
I enjoy working with people to "get it done". That was the most enjoyable aspect of my job at Southeast Consolidators.
