The leadership really cares about my growth and continually invests in my training. The work is not easy sometimes, but it's rewarding once you figure it out. The work life balance is awesome, we're able to work virtually and come into the office, so you get the best of both worlds. There is always a room for improvement and mistakes are considered new learnings. The CEO is very hands-on and you are very welcome to express your thoughts and ideas. There are also fun meetings and company parties, that you'll definitely look forward to! Aside from that this company will really hone your skills for allowing you to work independently, giving you minimal directions and it's up to you how to do and finish the job. :) Overall I will definitely recommend anyone to apply in this company, the work is not that hard, not too stressful and everyone in the team is super friendly! You will have that feeling of looking forward to work everyday because you know the managers really care for your growth as a person and the CEO is lenient in a nice way. It provides the chance to discover that success can also be found outside the usual office cubicle. It trains its people to be more responsible and take ownership of the work that they are doing. Meritocracy is supported to help the employees reach their full potential. The payout is always on time. As a start-up company, the management is doing it's best to come up with the policies and benefits to show how they value their employees. The team catching up events is always fun provided that working virtually is quite challenging, but the company seems to develop a solid culture of teamwork among its employees. None so far. It was hard in the beginning as there are so many things to learn in a short period but everyone made the transition easy and smooth. We have the opportunity to learn other things that we can add to our portfolio. The pay is never late and I never had a pay dispute. The teamwork is so great that every task, problem or concern is addressed by everyone including the Managers. They recognize individual and team success. All in 3 words, I am Happy. The Company migrated and used new tools thus, system and procedures are not yet polished. The CEO is very open and flexible when it comes to investing resources in order to improve the process (such as Tools, Talents etc.) 2. Has set the culture of raising the bar higher to everyone as it creates competence, continuous improvement, and confidence to team members. 3. The company has given each employee to contribute and collaborate which gives us the sign that there's a foundation of trust upfront. 4. The CEO and the Operations Manager collaborate to the team for those project or initiatives that would make the Product, Process and the Performance improve at its best. 4. People are given to lead a project. For me, it is essential in the organization as it gives us an opportunity for continuous learning and to learn about project management. Not totally a downside as the management is in the process of looking of improving this area: 1. Small success shall be celebrated. I think we have to improve on or should be creative enough on fostering rewards and recognition even on those smallest achievements. 2. The work is challenging and there is flexibility to work remotely. Bi-polar, ADD and micromanagement is a consistent theme. Priorities change like the wind resulting in wasted time and frustrated employees. Duties outside of job scope are regularly delegated without proper compensation. Employees are misdirected, bullied, disrespected and underpaid. Unsanitary office environment where dishes washed in bathroom and dried next to toilet and bidet. It would be unwise for a company not to change course if you're flying into a mountain. \r\n\r\n3) \"Duties outside of job scope\" - Yes, this will happen from time-to-time, especially if you're put on a special assignment, but that should be only 10-20% of the time. When you were 1st on-boarded we clearly explain to you that you are joining a \"start-up\" company and roles and responsibilities may change. In terms of compensation increases, this must be mutually agreed upon with management. If there was a disagreement or if you felt you were being underpaid, then this concern should have been effectively communicated with management. \r\n\r\n3) \"Misdirected, bullied, and disrespected\" - I wish there was more context to this, but my opinion after an investigation with the company about these accusations is that there was a communication issue. No one in the company has the job description to \"misdirect, bully, and disrespect\". This may happen, but we have strong policies around this in our employee handbook. It's unfair to write this review making it sounds like this happens every moment at StandDesk. \r\n\r\n4) Unsanitary Office - Our offices are cleaned and sanitized daily. We don't have active policies around where team members dry their dishes because that would be micromanaging. \r\n\r\nNet summary, as a company there's always room to grow and we strive every day to be better than the last. When working people, it's extremely important to find the right fit between culture, experience, skill, etc. - otherwise, sometimes no matter what you do is wrong. Freedom to work outside the office sometimes. Immediate team was great and ONLY reason for staying. But the team is not there anymore because all of the jobs were transferred overseas. Contract allows you to work overtime (but not get paid overtime wages). Awful Management. They take advantage of most people who work there. The average turn around time for their employees is under 6 months because the employees are not treated fairly. Extremely limited direction and when direction is given it changes frequently so no work can be done or even close to finished. Hours are awful, expected to be available every hour of the day including weekends and nights. Had to use personal phone so that customers may call the company about complaints and questions. Was not permitted to turn off the calls. Pay is NOT up to industry standard by any means. And "raises" that were promised never come around because management is not in the office for days on end while meetings are supposed to happen or says "we never talked about a raise" when it was documented in multiple emails. If a raise is eventually given it is MUCH less than the agreed upon price. Management fired employees who were using a referral program that management told them to use. Overtime pay not offered but overtime was basically required (had to be available while the factory was open in China but also had to work normal work hours). No benefits, not even for full time employees. Office is a dump.
