After carriers were made independent contractors instead of employees the job went in the crapper. We are no better than indentured servants. Benefits were eliminated and now are non existent. We have not had a pay increase in 10 years.

Great people and fair compensation

I look back positively on my experience working there. If I could change one thing, it would be the infrastructure. I found it frustrating to work with the outdated systems that worked independently. There were many fire drills that would have been avoided with the implementation of programs such as SalesForce.

Worst company to ever work for

The depot owners will lie. They allow you to come in but dock pay for something you NEVER agreed to. They make up rules and believe that paying their people isnt something on their agenda. Depot owners should be prosecuted if they dont pay people and never sign paper work! Beware! Put a lien notice on the depot before signing any paperwork that way you are protected!!!!

Terrible Job
|
Honestly, this was the worst job I've had for me personally. It was early hours, for low pay. You're paid per paper on the route (like 25 cents), and each error (wet paper, lost paper, missing sections) was a $5 - $10 thing with no verification process on behalf of the management that charged the errors. Only good was holidays when some people on the routes would provided a few dollars as a tip.

Strict schedule
|
This was a 7 day a week early morning delivery position. I liked working for this company as it was easy to get time off and the bonuses were good at Christmas. The route was predictable and flexible but had a strict schedule. The biggest delivery day was Sunday. I learned that punctuality was highly valued in delivering the paper but yet had to be careful in bad weather.

Tons of Holiday over time shifts and a slow rest of the year

repetitive mindless work with poor management. A lot of the time you're standing around playing with your thumbs waiting to be assigned to a new task or trying to find something to do to be "useful". They staff a lot of people and it doesn't really feel like a union.
