Weekend très enrichissant

En effet un weekend avec une équipe de 6 à 7 personnes pour monter une start-up est enrichissant car tout le monde est amené à travailler et proposer des idées bien qu'ils ne sont pas toutes acceptées. Ceci nous apprend à collaborer bien qu'ayant des idées différents qui sont finalement tirées pour tirer la meilleure et la concrétiser.

Spent 4 months organising the entire event and all details including marketing, finding sponsors, participants, judges, mentors as well the venue and all meals provided during the weekend. The event was a great success with around 70 participants and 15 startups, several of which have continued well after the weekend and are now income-generating companies.

StartupWeekend is by far the most interesting community to be a part of anywhere you go in the world.
|
It is all volunteer based but the people are what keeps the production moving at such a pace that you would think there were more than just three days of the event.
I have learned the hustle of entrepreneurship through the many people involved and have met a number of great individuals with some of the most mind blowing ideas I have ever heard.
The hardest part of the job is the amount of time given. Though, everyone does hustle to get things done, sometimes there just arent enough hours in the day.

Educational program that helped people to begin start-up business.

It was a three day weekend program that had people form teams with someone who had one of the best pitch for a business plan, project, or product. My team and I created a app that is for the use of homeless people and ex-convicts that needed help to get back to society and get their life together. We called the app The Number App. It was a great experience because I learned how to use Adobe computer design, build my communication skills, handle work while under stress, accomplish assignments on time, and I was able to take in advice and criticism by being apart of this program. At the end of the program, we had to present our project in front of a panel of judges that would decide what team would get an award for their business. Our team won the non-profit award for our Number App.
