private:stateofnevada https://www.indeed.com/cmp/state-of-nevada/reviews Oct 27th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Open State of Nevada Accounting Assistant Ely, NV USA It's a State job, pretty secure once you pass your probation period. Can't complain to much about a State job, especially if it's office work. M-F 8am-4:30pm. Paid Holidays, decent benefits. The pay really isn't all that good for office work unless you've been there forever and even then there are public sectors that will start you out at a much higher rate of pay. Paid holidays, benefits and paid leave. Pay is kinda low, then there's the furloughs thanks to COVID. 0.0 0.0 3.0 4.0 3.0 4.0 3.0 4.0 Jan 31st, 2021 01:10PM Mar 19th, 2021 07:57PM State of Nevada Real Estate Investment & Services

We have had 7 different Dept Directors in the last 10 years and 5 different Administrators just in my division alone in that time. What's with the revolving door when it comes to the upper management of the Department of Administration? The Dept of Administration needs a climate study done across the board - Starting with the Director's Office and every division and section under it. And it needs to be conducted by an outside entity to ensure its effectiveness in bringing about positive changes so desperately needed throughout the entire department. Decent pay. Decent health care benefits A revolving door of dept directors & upper mgmt 0.0 0.0 3.0 3.0 1.0 4.0 4.0 1.0 Jan 31st, 2021 01:10PM Mar 19th, 2021 07:58PM State of Nevada Real Estate Investment & Services

I enjoyed the clients The management is petty and picks on people. Many who work there wish to quit or are just waiting for retirement. 0.0 0.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 Jan 31st, 2021 01:10PM Mar 19th, 2021 08:02PM State of Nevada Real Estate Investment & Services
private:stateofnevada https://www.indeed.com/cmp/state-of-nevada/reviews Sep 12th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Open State of Nevada Health Facilities Inspector I Reno, NV USA Limited Professional Growth As a contractor, it will be extremely difficult for you to get an elusive role as a state employee. Even when your job as a contractor is the same or similar to the jobs that are open to apply for on the state’s website (NEATS), HR will often outright deny you, stating that a contract position does not count for ANY experience. You could be working for 2-3 years as a contractor with NO sick leave, vacation time, health insurance, and labor rights (according to them it’s not the right professional level). However, the moment you apply for a state position, they’ll tell you that your experience doesn’t matter. In no other professional role that requires a college education, I have ever experienced such limited professional opportunities for growth and advancement. Not to mention, the training is abysmal and there is a revolving door of new employees. Talent is not so much appreciated here as knowing the right people to pull strings and open doors for you at the top. Hence, there are very little checks and balances in place to make sure that hiring is truly fair or that good employees are retained. I wouldn’t waste my time applying for a contract or non-contract position with the state, as they have a lot of people in charge that have no business being there in the first place, either then they’re apart of the good ole boy and girl network of Nevada. It’s no wonder why this state ranks almost dead last in education, health care, and public health spending. *If you’re looking for possible job growth opportunities, innovation, solid leadership, competitive pay, and fair HR representatives then don’t waste your time, energy, or talent. Also, don’t give 110% each day with none to limited training, thinking that you’ll be rewarded for it. In the end, you’ll never be good enough or at the “professional level” for any type of real advancement! 0.0 0.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 Jan 31st, 2021 01:10PM Mar 19th, 2021 08:02PM State of Nevada Real Estate Investment & Services

private:stateofnevada https://www.indeed.com/cmp/state-of-nevada/reviews Aug 22nd, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Open State of Nevada Accountant III Carson City, NV USA The State of Nevada is as incompetent as it is corrupt I worked for the State of NV for 8 years and I am ashamed to have been associated with them in any way. This corrupt dis-organization is riddled with incompetence, moral bankruptcy, corruption and even more so with Sissylack "governing". Any self-respecting person with morals would not fare well (nor be happy) working here. Think twice if you are a person of integrity. private:stateofnevada https://www.indeed.com/cmp/state-of-nevada/reviews Aug 22nd, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Open State of Nevada Staff Professional Trainee Las Vegas, NV USA Deceitful Management Hired as a Staff Professional Trainee with DETR. Trained for the job 1.5 days of paper handouts. No computer system training. No training period allowed for you to learn the computer system or best practices and expected to push out work at robot speed. Management aggressive, bullying two faced style makes for a extremely stressful environment. Terminated within a month after hire - reason: You were an experiment that just did not work out. BEWARE of DETR hiring!!!!! Pandemic experiment!!!! Some employees willing to help on the DL. Management, lack of training, lack of direction, lack of understanding, lack of empathy. 0.0 0.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 Jan 31st, 2021 01:10PM Mar 20th, 2021 03:55PM State of Nevada Real Estate Investment & Services
