Toxic and untrustworthy work enviornment

Do not work for this company. The work-life balance is no such thing. As an RN, you are salary paid, but in the end, you are making less than the hospice aides and LPN because we work so much. Do not work for this branch. The supervisor and clinical manager are NOT helpful whatsoever, and they expect things that one person is unable to do in a day. There are better hospice companies!

Extremely flexible , good nurses , good pay

I have nothing bad to say about St.croix ! My favorite employer and was sad to leave but moved out of state ! My nurses were wonderful and the job is very rewarding ! Great pay and job is extremely flexible as long as your honest about your situation and donât have a lot of call outs .

I have been with St. Croix for 7 years and have been supported in every way including the career ladder for all clinical disciplines that allows for both personal and professional growth. The culture is one of great support and appreciation for the staff. Recognition and appreciation for job well done is the standard and always appreciated the recognition for being accountable to my role and most importantly the patients.

Our company was bought out by St Croix so we went from a smaller knit company to a full on corporate ran hospice. I was oncall weekends and all calls go to a triage nurse that is located OUT OF STATE, we were sent all over the area for very minor issues ie. Drop off briefs over an hour away and drive another hour to do 1 visit Not much management support for oncall staff. We were promised ânothing will changeâ but wverything did. Also, HCHB charting⦠yuck!

Managment - heavy on micromanagement.
Work Life Balance - management is terrible in this department. Sick kiddos, or health problems of your own? This is not the right company for you.
Inclusion- it's a tough group to join. Rather than open arms - theirs were crosses. Proverbially speaking.
Overall the job duties were perfect. I loved my job. Loved the patient's. I left because management enjoyed "flexing"
. Making certain you knew who the boss was and what they could do to your career if you didn't do exactly as they asked. Even if it seemed immoral.

Was excited to be part of a team helping others but....

I worked here for almost a year. After 40 hrs of eye rolling "training" before even starting my job most of which did not apply and after admittedly asking for more guidance in a "self review ", they don't really help you. They make you feel like you owe them, when you don't! I was told I would travel, which I was ok with, but they spread you out and have a travel threshold!?!? Started with mostly 3 counties, ended up being 5. Not realistic, they'll say you can't perform what was expected, when that was not presented to you correctly.

Great Team (Family), Owner truly cares about his staff

I absolutely loved working at St Croix Hospice. We had the best team and we were always there for each other. The owner truly cares about the staff and if our office needed anything he would make it happen. As with any health care job there is always change but our team managed to get through it. I would highly recommend working for this amazing company.

Work life balance non-existent, not enough support
|
They say the job is 8-5 with occasional on-call- not true. You are realistically working 8-6 or longer with NO BREAKS! They say they don't want you working past 5, but there is too high of patient load and not enough support to make that happen. Also, if a family or patient actually need you (you know beyond the 30 minutes that you basically have with each patient) it just makes you work longer the rest of the day and week since you'll still have the same amount of patients to see the rest of the week.

The company does not value your input, the time invested in pt care. The company goes thru many management and regional care managers and some have chips on their shoulder caring more for what they have the power to do versus putting the patients and employees first. It's unfortunate because the owner does not portray this mission model yet the employees in charge do
