private:steadfastcloudhosting https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=634785 Oct 12th, 2016 12:00AM Open Open Steadfast Networks Chicago, IL Happy to be an employee at Steadfast Pros While every company has its ups and downs Steadfast has more of the ups. - Flat management style. - Freedom to express concerns and be taken seriously in most cases. - C-Level management are very approachable and easy to work with. - Easy to get to. Location of the main office is fairly easy to get to while still being right in the loop area. Plus free employee parking! - Most every employee is a joy to chat with and work with. Respect is received all around from 95% of the people here. You won't feel like you don't matter to the company. - Fair compensation/pay for my work. - Health and other benefits are above average but way better than most these days. Cons Unfortunately there are still downs. While it may not be hard for the company to do things immediately to solve some of the cons I know they have known about them and are working on things. It is clear. - 5% of the employees (which is a very small amount 1-2 people) will have no problem treating you like garbage, or going off on you just by asking a simple question which results in them swearing at you, treating you like a child, belittling you, and other basic high school like BS. This has been worked on and is still being worked on, but the extreme lack of respect from some without it being warranted has no place in a professional environment. It's cancer for moral. - Slow processes. Sometimes processes are to slow because only one person can push past that process, or only one person handles that part of the process. This isn't a secret and management has been informed of the concerns, and I believe its being worked on. This is not normally client impacting things, but still frustrating from an employee perspective when you are trying to get things done. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 4.0 5.0 5.0 634785 Open Advice Steadfast is a great place to work, normally friendly, people are happy, smiles are on faces, but of course this doesn't mean there are flaws. Here are my opinions and advice to management. - Keep out the cancer (constant poor attitudes), and destroy the cancer fast. There is nothing worse than going to work and constantly having to deal with someone who is a hair line trigger pull away from exploding and saying extremely disrespectful things. Or someone who just never has anything positive to say. Or someone who will rally other employees against another employee like its grade school instead of work. They kill moral, they kill productivity because people tend to not want to talk to those types of people, they destroy confidence, they spread their hate and disdain to others like a raging incurable disease. Hearing second hand talk about how someone talked crap about you behind your back for something silly, or a simple mistake is truly disheartening. - Give more people power to make decisions. Processes take to long and it makes things more difficult than they really have to be at times. Give employees tools to ensure that, with the power to make the decisions they have the ability to make informed decisions based on the same information. Trust them to do the right thing, and if they don't, speak with them and correct it so it doesn't happen again. - Sometimes things seem like a popularity contest. Its not. We are all trying to accomplish the same goals and most everyone puts in an extraordinary amount of effort to accomplish those goals. This in my opinion is a lesser form of disease that is harmful to the work place, but can sometimes have devastating unforseen consequences on moral. - Employee recognition more often. Maybe weekly. Look at all team members. Things some of the team members do are often not seen, or taken into consideration like the extremely fantastic work programming has done with our tools behind the scenes, or something going on with network, or endless hours a tech will put in helping a new client move in or preparing for a new client. - Make sure that with everything that the values stated by our company in Integrity, Empathy are also put to use when interacting with employees. Lots of different things going on with each employee at any given time. 0.0 [] No Yes 0.0 Apr 23rd, 2021 08:02PM Apr 23rd, 2021 08:02PM Steadfast Cloud Hosting Technology Software & Computer Services
private:steadfastcloudhosting https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=634785 Aug 23rd, 2016 12:00AM Open Open Steadfast Networks Sales Chicago, IL Sales Great potential here. Management focused on doing what it takes to move company to next level. Very open door policy and "flat" structure makes for exciting opportunities as we grow. Some growing pains as transition to more enterprise functioning org., but management is VERY open to suggestions and seems to be making wise decisions based on growth goals. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 634785 Open Keep up the positive momentum -- stay open and continue to recognize contributions at all levels. private:steadfastcloudhosting https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=634785 Aug 2nd, 2014 12:00AM Open Open Steadfast Networks Dead end and second rate. After considerable thought, there isn't much as far as pros. If you are a recent graduate and/or looking for your first tech job, this is the type of place where you can "pay your dues" and then move on to a decent IT job. Working here may pad your resume, but advancement opportunities are rare. Pursue all other options first and don't sell yourself or your career short. Like many companies (especially in hosting), they stretch their support staff very thin, and compensation is not proportional to what is asked. In fact, compensation is well below median in the Chicago area. Raises are marginal and do not reflect cost of living. Benefits are okay, but not great. The shifts are long and are frequently very stressful as one is constantly pulled in numerous directions due to poor organizational structure. You will miss out on many weekends and holidays, although support scheduling is clear when you sign on. This company offers fully managed services which reels in the difficult and non-technical clients you would expect. While dealing with the aforementioned points, you are expected to remain positive and give a level of servitude that is not realistic with the staffing and structure. --Managed services is not for everyone. There is very little training and you are expected to figure out procedure and other things mostly on your own. Policies are ill conceived and selectively enforced. The open door policy consists of management (possibly) "listening," and then not acting in anyone's interest other than their own. Organization and efficient function are lacking as communication is sub par, which is unacceptable for a small company where management is under one roof. The overall theme there is mediocrity, and that is putting it kindly. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL -1.0 DISAPPROVE 5.0 1.0 2.0 2.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 634785 Open Begin by setting your employees up to succeed. Part of this is listening to your employees rather than dismissing them as "negative." I realize it is easier to treat the symptoms instead of the underlying issues, but these are the people that are in the trenches. They know how things operate and where changes need to occur. Back your employees up where prudent and lead by example. Throwing them under the bus in an attempt to preserve customers will not improve morale which fluctuates from low to lower. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 0.0 Apr 23rd, 2021 08:02PM Apr 23rd, 2021 08:02PM Steadfast Cloud Hosting Technology Software & Computer Services
