There are some genuinely nice people that work here. There are working bathrooms. Some truly cute products as well and some lovely customers. The owners are the least gracious business people I have ever met. People are treated differently depending on where they work and if they fit into the office clique. It's stripped down of any hierarchy, and allows smart and aggressive employees the opportunity to make a real difference at the company. The hands-on experience of every aspect of a thriving ecommerce company is priceless. You never feel boxed into one job, for those that love to learn this company allows you to wear multiple hats. The family-run culture is comfortable and accommodating. It's customer base is loyal, authentic, and engaged. Management allows for complete autonomy, and the learning opportunities are endless. Steals requires and deserves only employees who are self-starters, passionate, not afraid of a challenge, and driven to grow the business. I'm lucky to have had that opportunity. The competition in the ecommerce industry continues to get harder and harder. Small businesses used to thrive in the time when social media was free, organic traffic was plentiful, and word of mouth meant something. This makes it a challenging work environment for your standard employee. The company is invested in technology and customer service. The company doesn't focus enough on employee health and potential. They say they want people to succeed, but don't trust them to be self-directed. This is a very fast paced, sink or swim environment that relies heavily on individual contribution. \r\n\r\nWe have many employees that have been here 5+ years that know each other very well, but I wouldn't consider that a clique. The employees at Steal Network are some of the most open and welcoming people on the planet. I have never witnessed anyone be treated like an outsider. \r\n\r\nWe occasionally have drinks in meetings to celebrate milestones or individual contributions. Coworkers are awesome and there's no corporate politics to worry about. You will be empowered to make decisions without any micromanagement from the owners and always greeted with a smile. Smaller company that doesn't provide the perks of larger companies, but large companies have to provide them with all the baggage that comes with those jobs. Warehouse workflow was very inefficient and too much work for too few hands. I would say the people, but the people who made this place bearable, have all left. In the early days this company had the potential to be the company they said it was and wanted it to be. Very Busy so the day flies by pretty fast. Upper Managements back stabbing is out of control. If you are not in a meeting, you will be crucified no matter who you are and what your job is. No one is special. If you aren't there you will be talked about and not in a good way either. They are very "Plastic". Seeing what they do to new potential employees is NOT right either. Slamming absent employees to other employees is not the way to get loyalty, you get the opposite and then they don't trust you. People over 35 have value too. They might even be able to teach you something if you will give them the opportunity. Show your employees your loyalty and reward them with some kindness and an occasional raise would be nice too. This place is my second home, and has been for about 5 years. These aren't just coworkers -- they are my family! Steal Network has the best people on the planet working within its walls. They are driven, passionate, and ambitious people, who never quit, and always have the company's best interest at heart. The teams are supportive, and genuine. The work we do is never dull, and I am genuinely serious when I say, I love my job, and adore my team. I never want to leave! I am grateful for what I have learned, been given the opportunity to do, and the continued growth I am provided with. It's a wonderful thing to like the place you work, and love the people you do it with! While there is more in-office time than when I first started nearly 5 years ago, in situations where you are truly in a bind, or need some flexibility, it is there. I am forever grateful for that -- if kiddo is sick, I can make it work. That is worth a million dollars to me! No one is perfect -- the bashing of the President, and CEO are unnecessary. You get what you give; and passive-aggressive anonymous reviews are not the way to contribute to the positive culture of any company. Now they start at 11 am. The President bad mouths current and former employees to other employees but is not brave enough to have performance conversations with her own staff.
