Good pay, but not worth it
|
|
1. The pay and benefits are above the market rate for admins.
2. Stephens handled the Covid pandemic well.
|
1. They know that admins are replaceable and they treat the admins as such.
2. Management is headquartered across the country, but still finds ways to micromanage.
3. A group of 4 admins is responsible for the running of the office, but were not allowed to work together. Management didn't want us "conspiring" together. They didn't even want us talking to each other.
4. Management also emphasized a "no office politics" attitude that discouraged admins from coming forward with any issues. If there was an issue that needed attention or mediation, management did not want to hear about it. They wanted us to be quiet and do our job.
5. Management will happily throw admins under the bus to soothe higher ups if it made them feel better.
6. Whenever management did have a note or correction to give, they were always aggressive about it. Emails from management, no matter the issue, were always dreaded.
7. Coworkers who didn't pull their weight or were extremely unpleasant to be around were never reprimanded. An entire office can want someone fired, but nothing would ever be done about it.
8. Some bankers treat admins as Executive Assistants, but without the title and pay. Admins frequently found themselves handling the bankers' personal affairs, but without compensation.

The network was undergoing lots of change while I was there, lots of upheaval and poor morale. The role itself wasn't what I was hoping it would be, coupled with the change I didn't stay long. Unsure if the culture is any different now.
