Decent product, aggressively priced and good performance. HORRIBLE management. Their new CEO has a background in the soft drink industry. Doesn't know what he's doing, and is also a poor judge of character. Hired one salesman that has a history of theft from employer. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 3.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 421235 Open Wake up! 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 0.0 Apr 23rd, 2021 10:24PM Apr 23rd, 2021 10:24PM Stingray Boats
private:stingrayboats-2 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=421235 Jul 28th, 2017 12:00AM Open Open Stingray Boats Department Head Hartsville, SC dept head There were some good people working there when I was there that could have made a positive difference in the atmosphere of the company, but unfortunately the good people tolerated the time there learning and preparing themselves for jobs with opportunity instead of being used up and struggling to feed their household. No benefits from job and company improvements, Worded better as,"No acknowledgement for one's good ideas and your work". CEO had no control over his temper which in turn showed immaturity when relating to his management causing turnover of some key positions which only time and experience can replace. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 2.0 3.0 3.0 2.0 2.0 3.0 4.0 421235 Open Sometimes a pat on the back is as rewarding as a raise if given in the appropriate scenario. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 20.0 Apr 23rd, 2021 10:24PM Apr 23rd, 2021 10:24PM Stingray Boats
private:stingrayboats-2 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=421235 Feb 23rd, 2016 12:00AM Open Open Stingray Boats Hartsville, SC Sinking Ship Four-day work week (when they don't force the employees to work Fridays and weekends). Company has potential. Unqualified management from different industries, thinking from the 1980's when the company began, micro-management (won't allow employees to think and do their jobs), set vacation at most expensive time of the year (some of us can't afford that), no sick leave, management treats employees like idiots, can't make decisions (I think because the current management doesn't have the knowledge), a great company is being driven into the ground, no raises in years, the bonus plan they advertise to attract people is bogus because there hasn't been a real bonus in years. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 2.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 421235 Open Hire some actual industry people to run the company and then don't drive them away with backward thinking and fear of moving forward. The company flourished when it had top-level marine industry employees. Treat your employees with respect. Just because you don't have the knowledge and experience to run the company doesn't mean that your employees are idiots. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 9.0 Apr 23rd, 2021 10:24PM Apr 23rd, 2021 10:24PM Stingray Boats
private:stingrayboats-2 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=421235 Sep 21st, 2015 12:00AM Open Open Stingray Boats Hartsville, SC Very Poor Management Good product, good reputation. Long history of good performing boats. Upper management came from unrelated industries. They don't know what they're doing. Their communication with employees is terrible or non-existent. They will throw you overboard whenever they have an opportunity to replace you with one of their buddies. They treat admin people very poorly. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 2.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 421235 Open Wake up. You've thrown away more talent and experience than you should have. Listen to experienced employees rather than assuming you know more than you really do. Hire middle management with actual industry experience - not just your cronies, that you think have management skills. They don't! 0.0 [] No No 0.0 Apr 23rd, 2021 10:24PM Apr 23rd, 2021 10:24PM Stingray Boats

Work load and schedule are favorable. The company has potential. Very few raises to the point of being greedy. Micro management by the top. Stingray is a stable, privately-owned company; they have been in business for 30 years; they offer employees a bonus plan. Pay is decent.
