Really nice team. The CEO is erratic and unreasonable. Hires people without a thorough interview process then fires them after a few months for no reason. I saw over 10 people (including two C-Suite members) get hired and fired in less than a year. The CEO had multiple complaints against them for sexist comments and speaks really disrespectfully about and to women. The CEO was so focused on "world domination" (literally said that) where they scaled too fast, opened offices in multiple countries, wasted resources to get these open, then had to shut them down because there wasn't enough money to keep them running. The CEO also enforced a 12-hour work day. We would get reprimanded if we arrived to the office after 8am or left before 8pm as well as if we took longer than 20 minutes to step out and get lunch. We also had to eat at our desks and would be chastised if we ate at a lunch table in the courtyard. The culture was entrepreneurial, fast paced and all employees shared the same value/vision. The CEO was extremely involved and present in daily functions and was always there to help. It has been a great learning curve, as I entered the industry with zero experience! I am now able to negotiate with institutional & Individual landlords, agents and more. I am continuously learning also developing new skills, and for me that is the best thing an employer can give you. The best thing about the management, is that they encourage to lead and manage your own projects and give you the resources to execute the project. For me there is no better place! The leadership team respects the work we do and we have quite a bit of freedom to make the best decisions we can when it comes to the product. Also, the team is very knowledgable and every person is able to contribute in a meaningful way. One of the coolest things about working for Storefront is that because we are spread across different continents (currently France and the US), there's a lot of emphasis put on staying connected with our colleagues. From daily standup calls over video to company-paid off-sites (most recently Lisbon, Portugal), the company has shown they are willing to invest the time and money into making sure the team stays connected and communicates well. Working at any VC-funded startup can be stressful, and Storefront is no different.
