The management is very friendly and approachable. They provide breakfast, snacks, periodic fun activities, and are extremely supportive. Not to sound cliched, but they do take care of their employees like a family. You find that out when you are going through a tough time. The support and understanding is something I've never seen anywhere else. Flexible timings too, if you need it.

As the company grows, it is essential that you keep periodic internal meetings so everyone knows which team is on which page. This is doable because it's a small team, and this will facilitate cross-functional training. Also, invest in employee upskilling, especially for the content team, as the work can get monotonous due to the nature of the projects.

Excellent Internship Experience - Would Recommend!

I learned a TON during my 3-month summer internship. I got really quick at navigating the terminal, reading/writing PHP, branching/merging in Mercurial (which was very helpful in helping me make sense of GitHub), and I got to utilize a lot of cutting edge software that they don't teach you in school. I worked on a team of 4 software engineer gurus who knew the perfect balance of giving me enough room to learn on my own and coaching me through areas I was stuck in. My main project for the summer was to build a development environment to test code before it went into staging and I got to co-write the protocol for this process. One of my favorite parts was being able to work on meaningful tickets that actually saw the light of day. The "work hard play hard" environment is something that I hope to find again in my career. I met some amazing contacts who taught me invaluable lessons about working in the field. In fact, at one of the work mixers (bowling!) I got great career advice about getting my foot in the door and continually getting fulfillment from an ever-changing technological landscape. I appreciate every minute I interned at StudyMode and would highly recommend and encourage anyone seeking software development internships to apply!

One suggestion for their internship program would be to have paired-coding. One-on-one time working on tickets with a developer every day would have accelerated what I learned over the summer.
