benefits, that is the only thing this place has going for them. Of course we lost our vision coverage this year.

Where do I start? 95 percent guarantee the supervisors will not back you up. The inmates can do what they want when they want with no consequences, I once had a food tray thrown at me and they actually gave the inmate another one. management is a joke.

Clean the old systems, you have dirty underhanded people running the jail. They run it with fear and if anyone gets out of line they shut them up. Another thing pay your officer's more, and for god sakes just go ahead and commission them. If you did it would boost morale and allow them to do the job you charge them to do more effectively.

Its easy to schedule time off. If you use your holiday time wisely you can end up with a full 7 days off, paid. Most of the people, not all but most of the people that work with you are genuinely good people.

Nepotism runs rampant here... its a buddy-buddy good ol' boy environment. The people in power aren't leaders or man managers in any way shape or form. Its almost a cardinal sin to use sick time, and the long hours take a toll on you. You'll bring home all kinds of sick if you're not careful. Be prepared to babysit 30-60+ year old men and women, and I don't mean that in a joking way. Administration is spineless... when an inmate does something wrong half the time they'll get away with it. You on the other hand, you'll have the rulebook thrown into your face. If you're not part of the clique, you'll be singled out for things everyone is doing. There aren't many opportunities to advance, and more often than not its the lazy ones who get promoted.
