Pilot Chesterfield, MO Conquest pilot Excellent maintenance, competitive pay, lodging/meal per diem, line mile/profit sharing bonuses. Efficient teams who get along well. Piloting a twin turbo-prop aircraft is challenging and an enjoyable job. In the aircraft you manage yourself along with your sensor operator. Ron Hoffman is an excellent CEO as well as pilot; understands the role of pilots on the road. Micromanagement, low meal per diem, no room for advancement (only “role-flexibility”, flying piston airframes). You are on the road more than you are at home (two weeks on/6 days off). No further career advancement possible in this job position (confirmed by chief pilot). 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 3.0 5.0 3.0 4.0 5.0 214105 Open Reinvest in your front-line employees with better pay increases and more room for growth opportunities to reduce turnover rate of pilots. Possibly add vacation time so that pilot employees are able to plan functions at home with family. Purchase jet type aircraft so that there is a way for present pilots to upgrade and not have to consider movement to other companies for career advancement. Present teams are excelling together. Invent a creative way of keeping these souls on board to further success of the company in the future. 0.0 [{"countHelpful": 0, "languageId": "eng", "userJobTitle": "HR Director", "__typename": "EmployerResponse", "originalLanguageId": null, "id": 2494083, "responseDateTime": "2020-01-23T10:49:53.897", "translationMethod": null, "response": "Thank you for the overall 5-star rating as a pilot for Surdex. We are proud to offer early career pilots the opportunity to grow from single engine pistons to a twin-turbo prop aircraft. Our fleet of aircraft, including the C441 Conquest II, are meticulously maintained to provide the safety, enjoyment and challenge you mention. \r\n\r\nRecognizing the importance of a better work/personal life balance with our travel requirements, we made a change to our scheduling. Our flight crew now have a pre-set rotation schedule enabling them to plan ahead for family time rather than being on call without notice. On rare occasions, this may need to be modified.\r\n\r\nWe are actively pursuing win-win options to improve retention of our pilots. After thorough consideration of the purchase of a jet; it was deemed not to be the best option for our business needs.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your overall positive recommendation as well as your comments for improvement..", "responseOriginal": null, "countNotHelpful": 0}] REGULAR No Yes 2.0 Apr 26th, 2021 05:57PM Apr 26th, 2021 05:57PM Surdex Corporation

Pilot Chesterfield, MO Pilot I give it more of a 2.5 stars (flight department great, upper management not) The maintenance side of the company is awesome. The planes are very well maintained and safe. Things do break on the planes...like anything, but they are fixed and back up and running whether you are on the road or not. The flight crews (most of them) are super cool and great people. Made really good friends outside of work with them. They make being on the road for two weeks a lot more fun. No set uniforms or anything while traveling, and a small phone stipend is nice. They issue the pilots an iPad and foreflight and lightspeed zulu headphones. They reimburse each week for the expenses you build up. Can get a lot of cash back points from all the expenses you make. Pilots have no set vacation days. Sure you get your 6 days off (which you could be asked to return earlier on your off days...) but 90% of the time you truly don’t know when your days off are going to arrive. They tell you 15 days on, but I’ve been told to stay a week longer past my 15 because they didn’t have anyone to cover me. That’s not my problem to be short staffed. Yes part of the job is traveling for 2 weeks, but to be asked to stay longer as if 2 weeks away from family and spouse isn’t bad enough. You can’t plan any vacation trips or events because you basically have no Schedule. The schedule gets updated each day, but only showing what’s going to happen the next day. So planning any kind of event, even only a week away is basically impossible. Next is perdiem. The cool flight crews and perdiem made being on the road a lot better! That was a nice benefit of having to travel so much, make some extra cash for the low paying salary of single engine pilots. Unfortunately, the companies management has decided to remove most of the perdiem. You can’t pocket anything now. They pay you for the hotel room, but exact change and they lowered how much food money you get each day. Nice job Management for taking away these guys perks on being gone from family so long... why not lower the pay of the upper management instead of hurting your front line guys. One last thing, it was very frustrating when you could not get ahold of your boss, even during business hours. Doesn’t matter if it was a call, a text, etc. 85% of the time I would not get any sort of response about work related material that I needed answered. Even though the flight crews are micro managed to the max by upper management. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 APPROVE 1.0 2.0 1.0 4.0 4.0 2.0 1.0 214105 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 2.0 Apr 26th, 2021 05:57PM Apr 26th, 2021 05:57PM Surdex Corporation

Great flight crew. Traveling all over the country is a definite plus to this job. Pay is very good(when working). Safety was not something that was ever overlooked and plane maintenance taken very seriously. Office personal easy to get along with. All in all, a very cool job! Flexibility is a must with this job. Can only fly on clear days and if you understand weather at all, you should know it can change very quickly. Must be able to head into work at a moments notice with no definitive schedule. Could be on call for days - weeks. During slow season there is very little work so must be able to manage your pay to adjust for the entire year. There are times when flight crew was not working for up to a month at time. Flight management does not seem to value flight crew as much as they should. Decisions were (occasionally) made in the office that directly opposed what flight crew would suggest which seemed to be counterproductive to the mission. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 4.0 2.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 214105 Open More respect for flight crew.
