There are no downsides to the company, I have been working here for around 2 months. Only downside would be that you use your own cellphone for work but that's not a big deal.

Great company with a great work place environment! Every one here is very laid back and understanding but, at the same time, takes their job very seriously. Protecting individuals and families with a quality product made by a quality family owned and run company is the number one goal here. The individuals that work within this company are all team players and are very easy to work with and for. If you want a job where you can make an actual difference within communities and have an opportunity to sell a product that could potentially save someones life then SAS is a great place to be. I have been here for little under a year and I love the day to day interactions with my customers and coworkers. If you enjoy working in a laid back, goal oreineted environment then this company should come highly considered.

If you are not driven individual that takes your job seriously then you will not last long. If you are not willing to put forth the time and effort to make the business and yourself successful then you will be cut from the team. As a sales representative, sales and numbers are everything. Meaning that working after hours and Saturdays is required at times to put numbers on the board. This is a growing company with plenty of opportunities for success but, you have to be willing to put forth the effort.

I have enjoyed the friendships that I have made while at this company. The team is very encouraging and uplifting. I have built some great friendships with outside sales reps as well. I enjoy selling a form of insurance that people can see and touch, something that will save a person's life if they ever need it. It is not like selling an insurance policy that you throw money at every month and never see the benefits of until after you're gone. I trust and believe in what I sale and could not ask for a better group of people to work with.

Inside sales is a tough business that requires great people skills and an even better sense of humor. Storm shelters are a seasonal item for most consumers so you will experience a slow period but as long as you keep your head up and don't get discouraged during those times you will be fine. When storm season does come around it will CERTAINLY be worth your while. You will be very busy during this time and it will require your direct attention to get folks protected but at the end of the day you know you've saved a life and you will receive a great check at the end of the week. If you are not a driven, hard working person this job will not appeal to you. I enjoy the rush I get from sales and the relationships with co-workers and customers that develop.

I have been a sales rep for Survive-a-Storm for almost a year and it is by far the most enjoyable sales position I have had in my 5 years of sales experience. The culture with in the company can't be beat and the opportunities are endless! Management is very flexible and works with each individual on a professional and personal level daily.

Being on call, which typically is once a month, requires you to work Saturdays and take calls, but thats part of the job and during storm season it puts more money in your pocket$$

The ability to sell tornado shelters to customers, and potentially save their lives is great, but the company makes this a really horrible job. Micro manage every minute of every day, track your every move via GPS, and never really reimburse you for your mileage you will travel, and you will travel alot, you'll get about 5-10 cents per mile, and drive 3000-5000 miles a month.
