Crazy workload. Poor management. I joined this firm for the fair salary. After 9 months, the job was not manageable. I discovered through a headhunter that I was the 3rd person to take that job in under 3 years. This position was serious paralegal work, legal secretary work, file clerk, and some patent drawings. They pay well for one person, but doing 3 people's work is too much. No practical or substantive help from the lawyers, who only write patents. I suspect that's why they have high turnover. Decent wage, snacks & drinks. I still keep in touch with most of the people I used to work with. Great work/life balance, great benefits, great hours, just about everything EXCEPT upper management was great. HR in particular had too much involvement into career advancement and that is a bad way to handle things. Most of the time they do not understand the positions or skills that are needed, thus they will reject any advancement even if it is quite warranted. Great place to work if the secretaries didn't think they were Partners also. Work days were pretty busy with majority of the user base understanding that technology is not stable 100% of the time. I learned a lot while I was there. Co-workers were awesome. The hardest part about the job was the technology at the Firm is 2-3 yrs behind and needs to be upgraded. What I enjoyed most about the job was being able to interact with my colleagues and sharing a laugh from time to time. I have gained most of my customer service skills working for the firm. A typical day consist of checking and responding to several emails and phone calls in reference to meetings and client needs and responding to those correspondences in a timely manner. Management is stable in the conference services department. The co-workers are friendly and work as a team in each department that I’m involved in, which includes, Reception, Catering, Audio Visual and Facilities. I enjoy my job to the fullest and there are honestly no hard parts. When we encounter the hard moments and issues in the department they are quickly resolved. We don’t allow them to linger to affect the productivity of the unit. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with my team and vendors, I work hard at making sure the conference service team is displaying platinum service to our clients and staff. I enjoy hearing their overall experience was a success, from the food and beverage selection, the equipment needs and everything in between, we want our clients happy and when they are that brings joy to my every day.
