Head of customer care does not care. Bonus schemes cut after bonuses achieved. Verbal abuse from management, culture of threats, forced to start work earlier than usual on boxing day under threat of job loss. Great co-workers, good interior design training (albeit on a budget). Good discount (but products still to expensive for our wage to buy). development is more important than employees. While the company went through it's big boom opening concessions everywhere, soon after they shut them all down and fired everyone. Managers had no concept of the actual job we were doing and pressured sales which were not possible. No possibility for advancing in role, no socials which weren't cancelled. There always was a handful of people at the top that were treated better than others, given opportunities and were allowed a lot more than the rest of us. Clear unappreciation for the creative sector as in-valuable and cheap. We had to constantly justify our working methods, never got pay rises or fair evaluation of our work. Also, men in this company tend to be given more opportunities and higher status. All in all, apart from some great co-workers, the place of work is stressful, demotivating, degrading and after a few years of employment here it starts affecting your self-esteem and self-worth. Staff respect the company values but HR and higher management don't. There is a lack of understanding with the pressure put on the Marketing and creative teams to produce content and plans with minimal time by higher management; It's exceptionally stressful.
