Lack of Leadership
|
Toxic work environment, ineffective communication, not truly a non profit, unrealistic work expectations.
Impossible to complete work within 40 hour work week, but not allowed to work overtime, but expected to do so, off the record.
Training does not prepare new hires for the many tasks before them, especially if they are new to the field of work.
Mentally, emotionally, physically draining work, but leadership does not care about staff well being.

It was overall a good place to work. It was a black Community founded and run company in a city that did not have much of that. They did a lot for the community physically -( building new houses,); providing jobs for BIPOC professionals when no one else really was ( doctors, lawyers, social workers, admins, and everything in between); training youth ( youth build); helping to create both mental health court and drug courts in KC metro; providing wraparound services when it wasn’t cool. That said, there was nepotism back then, and learning how to be a large diverse community health center had its growing pains.

A lot of of internal and external politics at play.gender discrimination.

Very unorganized company from top level mangement and below. This company advistise they are for their community. Swope is the total opposite of this. Employee share personal insults among each other about patients. Swope teat their patients like cattle not listening to theirs health concerns just trying make their numbers.

Good learning experience. Good workers will give more work. No appreciation i.e. money wide, just Thank you and you did a good job. No support in the job, money driven. Work in MH, employees' mental health is not important. Supervisor acts according her mood that day, ver petty. Work long hours to catch up with work. No pay.
