Entry-level engineers look elsewhere.

Overall Symbiont is pleasant to work for on the engineering side along with okay benefits and pay. Although given the size of the company, there are little resources to go around and training for entry-level engineers is minimal, with apparent expectations set high.
Senior level engineers and management are also overworked which contributes to neglecting junior level training and mentorship. Additionally, management should be transparent in what they need/want instead of beating around the bush.

A good place to get experience
|
The daily job was to monitor the Military Health System Network and report on the state of health for the electronic patient record system. I learned how the different software interacted together and with the hardware. The manager was pretty hands off once proficiency of the responsibilities was reached. The most enjoyable part of the job was the people I worked with.

Symbiont is a great place to get your feet wet in the government contractor IT world. Most positions in San Antonio are entry/intermediate level, but they encourage you to learn, grow and support you.

Really enjoyed my time with Symbiont and I stay in close friendship with the company's owner. It was a government contract working with the Air Force doing systems security and monitoring for the tri-forces.

Symbiont has some of the brightest minds working for them. Everyone there is friendly and down to earth. Upper management has a good rapport with everyone. Just about everyone there has the potential to do great things. The engineers are dedicated to their work produce fantastic results.

The was very well organized as far cable installation was concerned. The employees was a wreck when I arrived but quickly turned around once we had a major meeting. The company was about staying on the straight and narrow. I had good experience with the company. The only reason I left the company, was most jobs was out of town, which means I wasn't able to relocate.
