I worked in the Onsite Sewage section. Great work-life balance. I was never made to feel bad if I had to take a day off if one of my kids were sick, and I know many others were able to be there for their kids' major events with no harassment from management.

It's a huge ask, but maybe a daycare center onsite would be beneficial to your employees. I ended up leaving because the amount I had to pay in childcare for my two children was incredibly prohibitive; I was losing money by working.

A lot of autonomy and flexibility around work and hours. Some opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, especially if you pursue them independently. Lots of great people work here. If you stayed, I'm sure you could move up internally in the organization.

The pace at which things moved was often slow... lots of bureaucracy to get through to get things approved, etc. Sometimes had the feeling that people were waiting to retire.
