Managers are very helpful but staff was very cliquish. Was only nice to certain customers. Constant complaints of that. Mgr could care less.only cared about money

Great work/life balance, managers are amazing. Company really values its people and the benefits were phenomenal. I moved and no longer have a Talbots near me, otherwise I never would have left!

The people I worked with were fantastic! I was paid well during my employment. Everyone was very supportive. The bad thing about retail as a whole is giving up weekends, nights and holidays. When you work retail you tend to miss some of the family things.

The stars I gave them were for the belief the team have in their mission, mantra, values. Those mission mantra and values do not extend to the team based on the way associates are treated. Highly political and those who know how to make their boss look good during corporate visits are the favorites and can get away with murder. The most loyal and dedicated just get more tasks dumped on them. Thereâs way too many conference calls weekly and if there is a difficult or nasty client, just know that CLIENT relations is exactly that and HR? Theyâre even worse. Donât expect to be anything other than your clock in number- itâs all you are to them.

I was hired part time 24 hours a week and eight of those hours was on a Saturday. Saturdays was difficult for me because I care for my mother-in-law and asked if I could work 24 hours during the week. They didn't hesitate and offered me 8-hour shifts 4 days a week. I accepted the extra 8 hours working 4 days a week.

The company was great and went thru a lot of progress
|
There were many opportunities for someone to grow with Talbots, but you had to want to improve. Many people moved into other roles based on their merit and abilities and it was a very good experience.
I have no issues with how the company was setup other than the constant up and down of temporary staffing during the holidays, it was a necessity, but it did create some issues with knowing who was and wasn't there at times. Fun and welcoming environment however.
