Cheap
|
Directionless company with zero loyalty or caring for the employees who've put in years of effort and expertise to keep things going forward. Used COVID as an excuse to cut tenured employees rather than last hired-first fired. Provided 1/3 the separation package to them as previous people whose positions were eliminated. Multi-billionaire owner & management teams cheapskate through everything involved - processes, equipment, tech, and employees. Dead end employment here. "Proprietary" (antiquated) software and platforms will lock you into a career that goes nowhere with other companies, then you'll get eliminated when you've been around long enough to earn a decent paycheck.

What an employee is told and what actually happens differs
|
Worked for this company a total of 40+ years, when Covid hit was LOA'd Suppervisor did NOT communicate situation updates. Left in the dark! Only $19/hr
|
Early years, flexible hours to fit family needs.

The more a person did the more was expected - not appreciated

Great people and benefits hampered by hapless leadership
|
Some top-level leadership decisions in recent years have left Taylor a shadow of its former fantastic self. For example, acquisition and rebranding of a large but bankrupt company in the Midwest proved disastrous; many small but successful sister companies were combined with this Titanic and, unfortunately, have gone down with the ship. New leadership has made other decisions that were ill-advised and catastrophically timed, such as terminating remote employees on several key teams in late 2019 ... just months before the COVID-19 pandemic forced all office-based employees to work from home. For the most part, the leaders aren't bad people; they are doing the best they can but keep tripping over their own feet.

Fun workplace
|
the good thing is that we work as a team and move forward to finish fast. the bad thing is that you have a lot of people pressuring you to do a perfect job when in truth there is no one perfect and we all make mistakes

Not what it used to be
|
Taylor is not a growing company. They have laid off many people for Covid with no plans to bring them back due to finances. So either they are lying to the employees or lying to the public.

Good relationships/support between solution teams
|
I really enjoyed my time with Taylor. Business Development worked closely with Account Management and there was plenty of support team expertise to drive sales and service levels for New and Organic clients.

stripped to the bone
|
Manipulative, dishonest, disorganized, and nepotistic culture. Leadership rarely communicates. Many employees are in 'survival mode' - put others down to make themselves look good.
Annual pay raises are minimal (i.e. under 1%). Benefits are very average at best. Department training programs really don't exist.
If you are applying for an IT position, keep in mind that there are A LOT of antiquated systems that are undocumented; some aren't even properly managed ("just keep the lights on, somehow..."). Migrations and upgrades only take place if there's some compliance or end of support situation, and it's always a last-minute exercise. You will also get the opportunity to debug other departments' systems, since they tend to not have the expertise to figure things out themselves.
Staffing is very, very light - you will take on a large number of responsibilities on that aren't in the job description (PM, BA, QA, etc) because 'the resources aren't available'. To be honest, these roles really never existed in the first place in this organization (don't be fooled!). I've seen in many cases where the office employees are asked to work in the warehouse because there isn't enough staffing on the floor; it's a regular occurrence. Be prepared to change your weekend plans and come to work.
There are a few bright spots in this organization, but not enough to make this a fulfilling tenure.

Great company to work with as a customer and an employee. Have had the opportunity to do both and have always been impressed by the level of caring about the customer and focus on helping them to achieve their goals. They r doing so while ensuring opportunity and security for employees and achieving profits.
