If you are looking to find people that are passionate about what they do this is the place to be. This is not a 9-5 job. Expect to work long hours and to busy most of the year. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 3.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 5.0 956928 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 2.0 Apr 27th, 2021 04:18PM Apr 27th, 2021 04:18PM Team Rubicon
private:teamrubicon https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=956928 Jan 16th, 2021 12:00AM Open Open Team Rubicon Associate Culture is king, but culture is a popularity contest they have a great mission. Good benefits. They harp on culture and core values, but they don't practice what they preach if or when they decide they don't like you. Then they don't provide any feedback until way later. It is a non-profit and pays as such, but they expect you to be available all the time, even though part of the mission values is change your socks. Most of the company is great and the mission is great, but has a "boys club" and a popularity contest feel. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 4.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 956928 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 0.0 Apr 27th, 2021 04:18PM Apr 27th, 2021 04:18PM Team Rubicon

private:teamrubicon https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=956928 Nov 26th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Team Rubicon Field Ops Los Angeles, CA Great for entry level, not for professionals - Amazing benefits package (including unlimited PTO) - Supportive to families -Genuine Interest in improving diversity and inclusion - Amazing culture and comradeship -Transparent with business health of the organization - Easy to get hired as an entry into the sector IF you are a volunteer or have impressive military records - Pays well for a nonprofit - Allocates professional development funds for its employees - TR volunteers are impressive people - High growth potential - Not bogged down in bureaucracy; always on your toes - Worst case of shiny object syndrome Ive ever heard of. - Lots of micromanagement; the C-suite will become very preoccupied with tactics and little effort invested in broader organization direction and vision. - If you are more seasoned and educated in your specialty, be prepared you will not be leveraged for what you bring - Not transparent with areas for improvement; some can be significantly defensive to feedback or requests for clarification (as they are seen as implying they arent providing clear leadership). - Continually struggles with providing clear structures and moving the org together as one unit; you will regularly question if you know your own role and there will be never-ending tensions from toe-stepping by all; can get very chaotic and disorganized - Little/no interest in organizational learning and continuous improvement; very, very strong rhetoric of "we are already perfect" - Significant issues with diversity and inclusion (despite interests in changing it); more issues with inclusion than diversity - Significant focus on optics and brand; use a lot of buzzwords - Speed is glorified at the frequent expense of substitive services; if you dig into the details, you will find most efforts are relatively superficial - Echo chamber. Can be incredibly oblivious to the realities or best practices in our field and not open to trying new things. - Many practices leadership believes in are highly outdated or relatively novice - You will struggle to compete in the job market for higher positions - especially in the international side. The duties and practices that would be expected by other employers from your position you likely couldn't demonstrate since TR doesn't follow much of them. So, you wont have them to put on a resume. - Struggle with work-life balance. Days can be long and continuous -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 1.0 APPROVE 8.0 2.0 3.0 3.0 2.0 5.0 2.0 956928 Open Respect our sector enough to not think its simple. Take it as a compliment when staff give you critical feedback. It means they have faith in your leadership to improve things. When you gaslight or shame people for voicing concerns or asking questions, you will find them disappear and the organization suffer. Also, there is a difference between being a technical expert and being a leader. Just because you are a leader doesn't mean you know more than everyone above you nor should you have to. Leaders know how to leverage their team members, not be them. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 4.0 Apr 27th, 2021 04:18PM Apr 27th, 2021 04:18PM Team Rubicon

With TR, it is very rewarding to be able to help rebuild lives affected by disaster and being a part of a special culture and team.
