As someone who wants to come in, do my job, and go home for the day, it was very off putting. One of the engineers "went too far" and tackled a supervisor, and was given a slap on the wrist. My position fell through the cracks and I didn’t have a set role in the company due to not having a direct supervisor my role was deleted. I would definitely like to work for them again great people at the time. Had a great deal of success calling on C-Suite individuals. Learned the challenges of a company that grows thru acquisition and the cultural difficulties that can cause fall out of good management and employees. Culture at TekLinks is 50% honest, hard-working, fun-loving folks, and 50% CYA attitude, and resistance/resentment to change. Hardest part of the job was dealing with in-fighting between engineering depts and sales teams. Most enjoyable part of job was ability to work remotely, no micro-management, and awesome commission structure. Most days are spent interfacing with customers, helping them navigate the balance between staying technologically current and making good business sense of IT expenditures. Often this involves some fire fighting on the customers behalf. In my Time at TEKLINKS I have learned a broad understanding of IT operations in many different verticals. The hardest part of the Job was working with customers was facing customers when we failed to do what was promised. My favorite part of the job was the people. Both employees and customers. There are a lot of opportunities to work with cutting edge technology. There is not much room for advancement and once you get in you are kind of stuck there. Used to be focused on customer satisfaction but have gotten greedy and really only care about profit. It is a good work culture but the expectations are too high for the staffing level and there is zero work life balance.
