Some customers are changing the world for the better. Otherwise, I checked my conscience at the door. Snacks and occasional catered lunches.

Leadership issues. Lack of direction. No transparency. Uncertain vision. Internal, cross-functional distrust is among the most I've ever experienced. Executives gossip about one another to their teams. Dubious values. High turnover among staff, notably leadership. VP's come and go often. Two of three founders are no longer there, despite the website and company LinkedIn page implying that they are.

People completing the jobs were great!

Misguided leadership.
Frequently changing processes without impacted groups being informed.
Half rolled out processes, new jobs and departments created with no real responsibilities or managerial guidance.
Cyber bullying by leadership.
No internal support from other teams and from managers who are too busy with their own agendas to care about their employees.
No collaboration between departments but rather a blame game.
No follow up on issues raised and no resolutions.
Company culture is non existent.

Pre-Covid: Free snacks, game nights, monthly happy hours (if those things matter enough to offset everything else).
Post-Covid: Not having to go into the office which is in a terrible part of the city with very limited safe parking.
- There were / are some genuinely good, hardworking people that want to do good work on behalf of customers & their teams. People within their respective teams build fairly tight-knit relationships.
- Handful of customers building world-changing products.
- Decent benefits (fully subsidized healthcare, 401 though no matching, "unlimited" PTO (though any of these things have become Bay area basics)

- TOXIC culture. The worst I've ever encountered.
- Overextended employees - tremendous amount of manual work for a company with automation in its name. It's not if you will get completely burnt out, but when.
- Each week the target changes of which department or team member will have the finger pointed at them for the non-stop "fires".
- Constant changing of process and responsibilities thus ensues the next cycle of the blame game. All start-ups are subject to constant change, but change here is poorly executed (decisions made in a vacuum, rolled out w/o stakeholder buy-in, etc).
- Tied to the above, no clear career path or advancement though often promised "it's coming" and to be patient.
- Below market pay for most everyone except those at the top.

- Appreciate your employees that are grinding at the lower levels of pay for a fraction of what some (over compensated )upper management is paid.
- Stop enabling a culture of big egos, disrespect, condescension, bullying and passing the blame - stop accepting and in some cases rewarding bad behavior.
- Listen to what employees have to say to feel engaged and valued before they become too deflated to care anymore and stay just for a paycheck during a bad economy.

The people who were hired really enjoyed working together before things started falling apart. People worked hard, but it felt like a collaborative team environment.

Complete lack of transparency. The recent review from a former "Project Manager" on 6/1 is fake and most likely written by the recruiting team, as a new position of Project Manager was recently posted. There has never been a Project Manager role at Tempo, and if they are in fact a former employee, there is no way they would have left a five star review. Do better.
