There is a 'flat management' style; which lets the developers do anything they want. They can freeze out innovation; if you are not on the "liked" list; you can be fired for no reason or cause. They under pay talent; and do not support growth. Anything that would impact production of meaningful work - is stopped through the 'flat management'. I initiated a request through IT; which was stopped by a different 'team member'. When I followed up with IT on my request, I was told that the other person was to communicate with me about the request (he didn't, though the work item was in brought up in daily stand-ups.)
