Interesting and challenging
|
Interesting job lots to learn in the beginning gets a little tedious the longer you’ve been there but there’s always plenty to help out with. Lower level managed e.g. bureau managers fantastic, helpful knowledgeable. Higher level managers e.g. RM and RSM’s always quick to answer their phones and help but rarely see even before covid and aren’t fantastic at support.

Great environment, slow career progression

Tesco bank had a great training program and the support I received from the management staff was really top notch. The department I worked in had a brilliant team based work ethic where everyone pitched in to support the other staff when they needed to. The whole experience for me personally was very positive, even when I eventually left the company there was no animosity and my manager went out of his way to make sure I had received all the support I needed and made sure the door would be open to me if I ever decided to return. The only criticism I have of my time at Tesco bank, is that opportunities for career progression where strongly advertised at the application/interview stage but once I started looking into this while on the job, the process to move upwards turned out to be longer and more complex than I originally understood. I don't mean to say that the opportunities weren't available, only that the process of pursuing those opportunities would be longer and more complicated than I had thought.
All in all, Tesco bank were a very good company to work for and I would definitely recommend working for them.

Avoid if you value your mental health
|
Workplace is rife with bullying tactics. You will not get any progression unless you are friends with management or higher. Many mangers therefore are not there on merit so staff actually know more about the job and processes than they do. Little support for anyone experiencing mental health issues, ironic given how much they push mental health week in the office. Happy to have managers moved from one dept to another after sending explicit unwanted pictures only for them to do it again

Generally a Great Place to Work

A great place to work but with limited opportunities for progression or career development. Unlike typical call-centre environments - no targets or strict scripting. Regulations are met and call monitored and quality scores are given with feedback. Customers are generally friendly and nice to talk to, very few escalations etc.

Bad company. Rubbish job. Management dont care about you. Stay clear. The management are unable and incompetent in dealing with situations. Abusive customers on the phone which is understandable due to how they treat their customers. Mobile and online banking are always down which increases the anger.
