Texas American Resources Company is a privately held, independent oil & gas exploration & production company headquartered in Austin, Texas. The company was founded in 1990 by President and CEO, David E. Honeycutt, and currently owns, manages, and operates producing and developable Eagle Ford and Austin Chalk assets in South Texas. As a multi-disciplined team specializing in geology, engineering, finance, and land, TARC uses a subsurface driven approach, utilizing the latest technology to maximize the recovery of hydrocarbons in an efficient and a responsible manner.
In December 2016, TARC partnered with First Reserve, a leading global private equity investment firm exclusively focused on energy, in order to support the company’s pursuit of oil development opportunities in the Eagle Ford Shale. In conjunction with the closing of this partnership, TARC acquired an initial leasehold position in the black oil window of the Eagle Ford trend in Atascosa County, Texas, covering ~12,000 acres. With First Reserve, TARC plans to acquire and develop a portfolio of properties that combines existing production with significant remaining undrilled locations.
TARC previously operated in the DJ Basin in Colorado and Wyoming, the Barnett Shale in North Texas, in East Texas, the Texas Panhandle, and the Texas Gulf Coast, where the company successfully grew production and reserves, resulting in attractive returns for its partners and investors.
