Different experiences for each individual employee. Consumers health necessities differ from mild to the extreme of emergency. The company seems not to always put their best foot forward when it comes to the health and welfare of the safety and well-being of the mentally challenged individuals, whether it be due to the budget restraints, lack of expert employee knowledge, the placement of empathic employees or those employees that are more concerned about their pay, benefits, second jobs and days off. The company has comprehensive consistent excellence in training that all too often differs with actual on the job concerns when dealing with the many different personalities which can easily lead to challenges and questionable communication between the consumer and health care worker. Yet, Understandably, It is hard as the company tries, It is always under extreme pressure from the federal, State and local necessary inspection and adherence which sometimes impedes the care time desperately needed for the mentally challenged consumers, causing disharmony and dis-communication between and their assigned consumers.

Working for the Arc was a very good experience. I was trained properly on the laws of working with people with disabilities and how to maintain them. I would definitely go back to working for them if the opportunity presented itself

Work environment was a growing, creative experience.

The workplace allowed me to be creative and learn more information about my area of expertise. I attended training and had great flexibility in my schedule. My team was collaborative and always willing share experiences and information. The hardest part of the job was all of the driving - sometimes 6 hours a day, and not seeing my co-workers more than 1 time a month.

Salary is poor, little room for growth. Cannot keep employees because they are not competence for there work efforts. I have worked with many clients and had a good relationship with the staff.

I loved working here but didn't like that I had to use my own car to travel so much for consumers. They do reimburse you for mileage overall great job

It's a very rewarding job but very little pay for what the job consist of. Management is ok but can be better. must have a love for working and caring for the mentally and physically disabled.

Responsible to provide intensive on-the-job training and follow-along services to individual with disabilities. Work with each individual in the completion of actual job tasks in addition to reinforcing positive work habits. Assure that each individual receives necessary support services which is great to be able to help individuals with special need. The problem, poor management and a poor compensation for the service and responsibility company expect from you.

Management is horrible the vechiles aren't kept up to DOT Standards at all mangers hire close friends with the transportation manager which is were I worked job opportunity is not posted at I had 20 years of supervisor experience the mangers decided to hire church friends and not making it a equal opportunity for everyone in transit ration department they manger's threaten your job when you need time off family doesn't come first at Arch Of Union County at all all they want are the buses on the road it's not safe at all
