There is consistently a lot of talk about community building yet everyone has to fight for scraps of funding and acknowledgement for their projects. The work can be overwhelming from time to time, but it's a mission based organization so it's all worth it. The benefits are pretty good, which somewhat counterbalances the nonprofit salary. Work-life balance is great if you are not in management.
