By using carbon data analysis and a bespoke index the investment manager can increase weighting in carbon efficient companies and be underweight in less attractive companies. This can be done whilst maintaining sector neutrality. The EU ETS & CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme will have a significant impact on share prices, with the more inefficient companies in CO2 emissions struggling to compete in terms of share price performance with the more efficient companies.
