TFD used to be great. Then they started devaluing their Customer Service agents, and shut down any forward momentum. People were once loyal now often seek other jobs or places that are less stressful. From a job place that used to listen and care, they now set standards that are insanely high for the exact same pay and benefits. They've joined the companies that give you a warning right before your annual raise to prevent you from getting more, so you have to wait an entire year to get any raise. The pay is fine, but you will deal with people who accuse you of hurting their dogs on purpose, a lot of emotional outlash, and admittedly, its just not worth that heartache. Discount on food is appreciated. You will be on phones for almost full days so there isn’t a lot of opportunity to break up your day, which is helpful when you work almost 12 hours a day. If remote there is a big brother element as well where WFM can see your every move which I don’t love but guess I understand. Extremely liberal environment, highly political based What is a typical day like for you at the company? Lots of hours on phone calls. Prepare for all day phones and very little email and text messaging. Management is always asking for feedback but is slow to implement it. A positive is that I felt that I could be brutally honest and never felt fear of repercussion from speaking my mind. Management would prefer to employ robots, but settles for humans This used to be a great company to work for, but now I dread clocking in. Management has decided to make workflows mirror that which could be expected from robots. They want way more out than is reasonable. There used to be consideration for mental health, burnout, and employee well-being. Now it's all about output. They want way more than they're willing to pay for. Every day you're micromanaged and judged by 30+ metrics. If any of these slips, you will hear about it. I worked remote so was still able to travel and have good work life balance. I learned a lot about people and of course dog health as well. There’s opportunity for growth and many side projects you can do in this position. The vision is articulated from management is implemented by the workers. At times there is ambiguity about the larger goal within the engineering part of the organization but this is resolved with conversation and consensus. Workers are able to implement solutions in the best way they see fit. All employees are cordial and receptive. The hardest part of this job is also what makes it fun. You are expected to be able to implement the parts of the system that you and the team feel are necessary to grow to a larger scale.
