The Fuller Dome in Carbondale, Illinois is the only dome Buckminster Fuller and his wife Anne lived in and the only home they ever owned. It is the prototype for all other dome homes that followed. Currently there are over 500,000 geodesic domes worldwide. The most notable domes include Disney's Epcot Center and the U.S. Pavilion in Montreal. In February 2006, the Fuller Dome was added to the National Registry of Historic Places. Given its unique role in Bucky's life, the Fuller Dome in Carbondale is possibly the most important Buckminster Fuller artifact remaining in the world today.
Your financial support is needed to secure our success. Whatever your contribution, your support is valued and will help us preserve and promote comprehensive solutions and Bucky's spirit of service that is vital to our community and the world today. Donations up to $125,000 will be matched by a Save America's Treasures Grant we were awarded in early 2011. Donors will be recognized on a permanent display installed at the preserved Fuller Dome site. See www.FullerDomeHome.org for more information.
