Great lower level staff, poor leadership

Amazing mission, great environmental impact, programs benefits many youth and community members with jobs and green space. Lower level staff is phenominal and puts up with a lot to get things done for the community.
|
Director level and up lacks transparency, accountability and understanding of programming. Program Managers are not allowed to fully access the funds or resources the grants they obtain provide, yet are still held to the grant requirements. Sites and plantings are poorly maintained.

Listen to staff, especially their accounts of blatant sexism. Make choices (layoffs) based on grant funding and employee outputs not personal preferences of Directors. Stop taking on new projects if you can't maintain old ones.

Run! Hostile - Passive Aggressive Environment!

Some of the staff are wonderful and really care about the environment and what they are doing.
|
Management - the Directors. The Directors do very little and are rarely there. They had an entire group of people leave at once because of the poor management. It is a very patriarchal system even though the President is a woman. She looks the other way as the women are treated as less than. Lots of backstabbing.

Your high turnover issue has everything to do with the way you treat your employees. Demeaning them and looking the other way when they are harassed and demeaned by the Directors is abusive.
