The Manchester Ball is an independent charity dinner, hosted each November in the City Centre and generously supported by local business, industry and the professional community. It exists to raise funds and donates 100% of its proceeds each year to local charities to help with their excellent work.
In 2014, we raised £21,678 for The Factory Youth Zone, enabling them to fund a project working with young people aged 13 to 21 years old in a crime prevention programme, with an aspect of addressing vulnerability to crime. The Factory currently has over 1,200 members who fall into this age range.
The Factory’s Vision is enabling and inspiring Manchester’s young people to recognise their potential, make positive choices and gain the confidence to achieve their ambitions. Their passion is to ensure that all young people they touch move into education, employment or training.
In 2015, the Manchester Ball will again be held on behalf of The Factory Youth Zone. The Ball will take place on Friday 13th November from 7.15pm to 1am at the Hilton Hotel, Deansgate in Manchester.
We are delighted to confirm that Paul Sleem will again compere the evening, with the amazing The Talent party band, who have appeared alongside Robbie Williams, Jools Holland and Westlife, performing throughout the night: www.thetalent.info
The Factory is aiming to increase female participation across all areas of activity and money raised will help achieve this goal.
Your support will allow them to develop and sustain a Girl’s Group, increasing the number of young women who access the centre. Targeted programmes will allow them to approach sensitive subjects such as grooming, body image, self-harm and issues surrounding sexual health, ensuring that young women in the area remain safe.
Money raised will also provide the opportunity for girl only residential trips and outward-bound courses, developing new skills, building confidence and giving them an awareness of teamwork.
