private:thestraitstimes https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=544784 Mar 14th, 2021 12:00AM Open Open The Straits Times Journalism Intern Singapore Steep learning curve, little work-life balance Getting to meet many people from different walks of life, learning new things, improving one's writing abilities. Editors expect you to be on call almost 24/7, at least until your story gets published. Weekends are often used to conduct interviews etc., so little to no work-life balance. 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 0.0 4.0 2.0 4.0 4.0 3.0 3.0 544784 Open Being nice to interns/junior reporters will make them want to do more work for you. Will never understand how some editors thought it was motivational to criticise unnecessarily or cast us in a bad light because of their mistakes. 0.0 [] INTERN No No 1.0 Apr 28th, 2021 09:45PM Apr 28th, 2021 09:45PM The Straits Times Consumer Goods

private:thestraitstimes https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=544784 Dec 7th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open The Straits Times Content Writer Singapore High-pressure internship ST exposes its interns to a whole slew of experiences – you'd never have to worry about being the intern that goes and make coffee or am left in admin duties. You will be stretched and tested continuously in a very hectic newsroom. Because of the internship's robustness, it is either sink or swim. Interns are expected to hit the ground running immediately, and the work culture may not be very friendly towards them to due to the strong hierarchical system that places them at the bottom. 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 0.0 3.0 1.0 2.0 2.0 3.0 4.0 544784 Open 0.0 [] TEMPORARY No No 0.0 Apr 28th, 2021 09:45PM Apr 28th, 2021 09:45PM The Straits Times Consumer Goods

private:thestraitstimes https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=544784 Aug 31st, 2020 12:00AM Open Open The Straits Times Journalist Singapore Fun, irregular hours The community is fun and interesting; the work allows you to venture out of the office and learn all sorts of new things - Not a desk job. Gets repetitive after a while, if you end up covering the same type of stories or events. Hours are irregular - usually start late, end late, sometimes really late. Sometimes might feel like you're working alone, not much working collaboration (but maybe that's also a good thing). 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 0.0 4.0 4.0 5.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 544784 Open 0.0 [] INTERN No No 1.0 Apr 28th, 2021 09:45PM Apr 28th, 2021 09:45PM The Straits Times Consumer Goods

private:thestraitstimes https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=544784 Mar 19th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open The Straits Times Producer Flexible working hours with the ability to work on passion projects. Supervisors and colleagues are really good mentors as well. Unexpected work hours and workload as the schedule for your job only comes out the night before. Must also be prepared to standby on weekends but this only takes place once or twice in a month. 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 4.0 4.0 3.0 4.0 4.0 3.0 544784 Open 0.0 [] No Yes 0.0 Apr 28th, 2021 09:45PM Apr 28th, 2021 09:45PM The Straits Times Consumer Goods
