Some mid-level managers mean well and want you to grow but are hamstrung by the higher ups. - Upper management is indeed cliquey and the moment you do something wrong or against what they want (your thoughts and feedback on ideas do not matter), you will have a target painted on your back. Purposeful obfuscation or miscommunication will start to come down from leadership and those in their pocket in efforts to trip you up and make you do something that they can take action against. - These same senior leaders know they're untouchable and will make disparaging remarks about coworkers or other people with no fear of any consequences, it's very concerning that they are allowed to continue but it seems that HR either does not care about this clique culture or is ok with it. - Hours are unacceptable with the level of work required, especially at the lower levels of pay. You may have gained valuable experience in fulfilling job duties and handling tasks within your role. Inconsistent expectations in terms of showing more initiative but there are no clear instructions and the leaders provide poor guidance, lack of effective communication within the company in terms of performance, and limited professional development. I also liked when we had meals together. 1. Unprofessional environment. Some team members are friendly and positive, but a lot of upper management seems almost like a clique. Since my first day I’ve heard them gossip about other workers or even clients in an unprofessional and immature manner. Also, I have been asked personal questions by many that are completely inappropriate. I got ignored when I reported one incident. It’s unfortunate cause the CEO seems nice but other higher-ups were two-faced. Overall, I initially felt that the team wanted to see me grow and then it hit me: everyone here is only looking out for themselves. No one wants to see you excel and rise your career: they just want you to do the grunt work since you’re new until you completely burn out and leave. 2. Lack of communication especially from higher-ups. When you’re brand new, they mostly leave you to fend for yourself (even on tasks that affect clients). When you ask for help or flexibility because there is too much on your plate, you often get nothing but a “oh well” type of shrug. I think upper management does not know how to train or effectively communicate with other employees. Tasks were very disorganized and communication was all over the place, and if you struggle then you are left to drown. 3. Lack of work life balance. You never know how late you are going to stay each day: it can vary from 5:30pm to late night. If you finish all urgent tasks and it is past 5, you still get dirty looks if you leave. I would receive emails 24/7, with people expecting a response or for me to do something during off-work hours and even past midnight from my superiors. I don’t think they ever not work. Also, the amount of work they give you is for like 3 people.
