Check what your property managers are truly doing onsite. Talk to people they work closely with.. they are “scared” to open cans of worms. Supervisors must also get feedbacks from assistant managers, maintenance . Not all you see is what it is.

Maybe this can also be a pro, but the company is still small compared to other management companies. Since it's so small, it's nice that we can get to know upper management, but they can also be easily overwhelmed.

Working for a company that cares about my well being

During all of this COVID turmoil it helps to know the company cares about what happens to you. A lot of safety and social distancing protocols have been created. It honestly seems like employee's and resident's health is the top priority. Employees and residents alike have been given protection equipment like masks and face shields in order to help everyone stay safe. They have also enforced policies to keep employees as far away from each other as possible while still being able to come in to work and put in our hours. Any concern is immediately addressed and my supervisor is always paying attention to see if we're doing okay or need support.

Some procedures could be better. It's understandable we're still getting the hang of social distancing and safety protocols, but for the sake of our long term benefit, we need to brainstorm some options.

I’ve worked for TSA for several years. I started as an assistant manager and have grown over time to learn and develop professionally at this company. The biggest pro with this company is the family feel and the culture of TSA; the people are kind and it’s a family atmosphere. We’ve supported each other through life’s “ups and downs” and it’s been fun to stay working with the same people every day; (instead of a constant revolving door like other companies). I really enjoy the health and medical benefits that are offered here and enjoy when the company works to enhance not only our resident’s lives; but the employee’s lives as well! I have felt very supported overtime at this company and have had fantastic supervisors throughout my entire career. I also love the company summer events and spring retreats! Thank you to the owner and president for their warm hearts, superior leadership, and wonderful generosity!
I have also really enjoy the daily laughs/ inspiration that the owner sends throughout the hard times of this Coronavirus pandemic. I have felt supported and safe during the new protocols and policies that have been put into place and are updated regularly. The company continue to give employees masks and PPE, as well as even going above and beyond by giving all of the residents PPE as well. The company has also helped to coordinate free food deliveries and groceries to those in need and vulnerable at our properties. The company has really gone above and beyond during this scary time and I’m so grateful to have an employer that really cares.

The job can be very busy at times with resident requests, juggling and multitasking daily items, or working overtime if you live on site. You really have to know how to prioritize tasks and how to stay organize to be successful here. I’d encourage the company to create an even better culture that works to develop employee’s personal and professional goals to enhance their lives. I’d encourage employee surveys to hear from all the employees at TSA to see how we can improve overall and continue to get better.

Great benefits, retirement plan, flexibility & onsite office team. Best kept affordable housing properties. Does a lot for communities with less income.

Property managers are not treated like managers. Regional managers are simply order takers and they are horrible with follow up. Then make excuses for why they can’t reply when outlook is on their mobile device. Property managers time disrespected by completing reports and updates that are never read or addressed. Upper management operate in fear with resident issues. So residents feel entitled leaving managers powerless. The company has great potential if they get out the dinosaur age ...they’re growing quickly and the focus are on the wrong priorities. There’s no separation of departments in main office AP is overwhelmed and property invoices are never paid on time. No real HR department privacy act broken on so many levels. They hire ppl because they are nice and not based on skill when it should be a combo of both, but they hire ppl with less skill so they don’t have to pay much. Its very challenging when you can’t even learn or be developed from your regional supervisor.

The top management completely rules by fear. They state that work life balance is very important by in reality you are expected to check work emails and respond to them quickly after work hours. I saw top management literally yell at people by making mistake and it is accepted as being a personality quirk instead of something that is wrong.
