The Good.... The Bad... The Ugly....

Pay - compared to that of direct competitors & similar businesses... pay is better.. Store Hours - if you compare to traditional retail.. hours are better. Talent - there are some really strong SM's, GM's and DDO's... Location, location, location - you know... is everything... if you got it... Great.... Ideal Candidate - Young, Bilingual... getting started in your career.. CSR's, ASM's & SM's quickly promoted.... rarely due to performance, more so to cover turnover..... which creates no work life balance.. Offer multiple benefits and medical options

Pay - if you are not running a large volume store, you are lucky to meet guarantee pay. They promise you all the money and promotions sky's the limit you promote yourself with performance.... but........ reality check... those large stores are coveted but if you are not bilingual.. solid producing managers will be overlooked from getting to larger stores. Store Hours - they try to compare our hours with traditional retail but we are not traditional retail... Talent - Lot's of talent overlooked for not being bilingual. Location - if you are in bad location, you are in trouble, too hard to grow. Tenured GM's and Sales Professionals will not make much more than guarantee. GM's typically lose their ASM's & SM's to promotion (bittersweet and happy for employee) but GM generally starting over ground zero again. Can happen multiple times in one year..... Getting promoted from GM to DDO is nearly impossible, unless you are willing to relocate, even then beware.

New GMiT's - be leery of the over promise on pay because they will not deliver... Is it possible, yes... is it reality... not likely... Work Life Balance - Go back to 10-6 or even 9a-6 M-F and bring back 10a - 2p for Sat. With the Web Portal.. We don't need to be open after 6pm. Senior Management - should be come back and run a store for 30 days every 2 years for RVP's and above. This place used to be considered a great place to work.. We lost some of those great senior leaders and now, we have leftovers....
