Higher ups don't know what their doing, poor communication between teams (no one knows what their doing), lots of changeover, too much early hiring lead to many rounds of layoffs.

Great tech forward product...but that's kinda where the pros end. Many regional managers know each other from Aasics so there is a bit of a bias. Somewhat easy job but micromanaging is rampant.

Awesome product. but the popularity grew too fast for the company which seems to have lead to hiring unqualified management micromanaging everyone. They made role playing and demo reviews more important than helping us land the sale. No commision and the checkout process for the sale could have been greatly simplified.

Best company and best product
|
Tonal is a great company to work for. They have tons of great benefits and discounts available to employees. Mostly inbound leads but you are encouraged to run your shop like a small business meaning marketing and networking in your area. Salary is great for the position. Bonus program could be improved. Commission is only paid out when you reach monthly goal and sometimes isn’t paid out until 2 months after you earned it. Manager bonus is decent but the other monthly bonus program favor’s employees in shops who see more inbound leads. This position is extremely independent and I probably went more than 6 months without my regional visiting the office. Great people in the company and the machine basically sells itself. Hardest part of the job is managing the downtime, when there are no promotions there is less urgency for customers to visit the shop

they promised no second wave of lay offs but then they immediately broke that promise within the same fiscal year by laying me and a lot of others off with zero warning.
they only care about sales and the pressure of making your personal sales goals/quota is very stressful.
they constantly compare you to other people and there’s no room for growth. just criticism.

Being in the Nordstrom as a full timer you’re only allowed one weekend out of the month to be off “if staffing allows it” why showroom managers only work one day out the weekend which is unfair already. The moral with the employees themselves is great but it’s an unstable work force since Tonal is attempting to be self sustainable and will lay off as many employees needed.
