Amazing first job choice

i have worked for torchys for almost 2 years now and i absolutely love it. everyone is mainly laid back and respecting of one another. it gets frustrating sometimes when we get busy but usually everyone always tried to help everyone, especially when busy. this is a good environment to work in, especially for a first job

Great place to work if your just starting to work in food industry
|
I have worked for Torchys about a year and they are very flexible with my schedule and the management is great, everyone is really nice and the job is easy, you learn a couple of things. Usually gets busy around munch time which stressing but usually we have two cashiers to cover for those times but overall its a great company and good pay for starters, I do recommend this job, I've never had issues with this company.

Terrible managers, toxic employees, lax covid regulations
|
Your work schedule came out a day or so in advance, nobody in the kitchen wore masks, managers always took the side of the customer, managers were quick to anger, clear favoritism amongst the managers. The only good thing about torchy’s is the pay is good.

GM at Plano location is terrible to work for. He has unrealistic expectations of people and acts like a toddler throwing a tantrum when a small mistake occurs. Management is back stabbing and the environment is stagnant with gossip.

great place to work
|
overall people were nice and its always pretty busy so time would fly. Had to learn multiple stations from flat top to steam well to fry and finally the grill station. The facility i worked at was tiny but they made it work. Some of the managment was on point and others you couldn't find when the rushes would come through. The hardest part of the job is being able to multitask when the rush comes through. The food is pretty expensive but delicious. overall great business model.

Good first job
|
Hired with no previous work experience; everything I needed to know was taught on the job. A fast-paced environment that gets even faster during lunch and dinner rushes. Coworkers are very nice and good at working in a team. Management is generally nice and understanding. The number of shifts each week will vary depending on availability. No benefits until you've worked there for at least a year. Many employees cross-train so that they can work in other positions within the restaurant.

Easy to learn, employee discount, friendly/diverse/supportive work environment, good location (Ward Parkway Mall)

Little to no breaks (except between shifts if working doubles), can be overwhelming during rushes, high variance in the amount of shifts you get, no sitting down

Fun place to work good money for bartending

I enjoyed my time at Torchy’s solely because of the regulars, the pay (tips) and it was a fun work environment. Not a good place if you’re a serious bartender because they look at the bar as not important, I felt in my 3 years working for them. Coming with bartending experience and working in a few different Torchy’s locations I realized the same thing at all of them, they don’t take bartending seriously and put ANYONE even a cashier behind the bar. When asked why a random new person gets Friday nights, they never had an answer and then the bar would suffer. I had to fight for good hours for 3 years and always hope I was actually scheduled full time even though I WAS always “full time”. I spent a lot of time here and could say a lot of good as well as a lot of not good about this place.

The company as a whole is ok. It has a very happy atmosphere even when busy and the people are great to work with. Pay raises take really long and the hours are sporadic.
