Very good company I'm just happened to get the job at a rough time in my life

It was one big family all of my higher-ups were great I felt welcome from day one. The only reason I lost my job is because I lost my mother when I first got hired by then and it really hit me hard and I lost my transportation the same week and didn't have a ride to work and I was doing mentally with losing my mother. If it wasn't for that happening I would still be there happily working with them
|
Honestly I don't have any cons I was only there for one month I wish I would have been there longer I have nothing bad to say about the company

Beyond expectations and trust from upper management

Towbes has been my home. My co workers are my family. If it weren't for having to move to another state for family, I would retire here along with the many, many employees with over 20 years with this company. Never seen so many long term employees.
The CEO, (Rob Skinner) is an innovator who took us from the dinosaur to light years ahead of the competition. In a small town, were up there with large corporations in large cities. Rob is some sort of fortune teller who knew how CA would adjust to the pandemic and laid out a safety protocol before our governor did. They also had masks made for us and all our residents when these resources were very scarce. The impacts were tough but Towbes was compassionate and held out a friendly hand to help us through.
We make an impact to our community. Residents over profit. We offered 10% discount on rent to our residents for 12 months. We offer rent to be paid until the 20th of the month, and even if that's not possible we still are compassionate and work with the resident. Then the philanthropy. Camp Whittier burnt down but we were there to rebuild, all 200+ employees working together. We have cleaned up beaches, neighborhoods, and much more. Never has a company cared so much for others. This is why our portfolio only has 17 units available out of over 3,000 doors. Residents love us and the management.
If you are looking for a team building company, you must come here. They empower their employees, voices heard, and opinions matter. Not a number, we are a person. I'm just an assistant but offered many ideas that have come into play. We have a lot of Grace Hill training and a lot of manager to manager collaboration for support. I was on my own at times but never felt "alone". I'm a policy person, these are found in a online database that is constantly updated to stay fresh with the ever changing laws.
My team has been amazing. We're all on the same level, no one looks down on eachother, we encourage each other. Together as a team, we made this property shine with amazing yelp reviews and awards. I feel like I own a piece of Knollwood, I am proud of it and give them my heart when I come to work. My efforts are rewarded. Not only is compensation much higher than others or the generous bonuses, we have many corporate wellness programs to keep me balanced. Rob Skinner hosted a meditation/destress session, our HR director, Beth, a walk around to unwind and get fresh air. I enjoyed the many steps competition with a scavenger hunt along the walk. A healthy employee is a productive employee.

Wish we had more growth on a faster pace. That may be a personal issue and not a corporate issue.

Would really like a guidance counselor. I am very eager to master my job now but look for growth on a quicker basis. I have received info that my time is coming but I am the personality type that needs a definite answer with a foreseeable timeline. Call me an over thinker and over planner. ;)

The culture in the corporate office seems very different (more respectful and friendly) from the culture at the properties. Spend more time speaking with the "boots-on-the-ground" and make yourselves more approachable and trustworthy to those same people. If you really want to know how you are doing, surveys from employees should always be anonymous, should allow for essay answers, and be evaluated by a neutral third party. None of the surveys I took allowed me to say anything constructive. They only allowed me to answer how wonderful everything was.
