Not a bad company to work for but has changed a lot since the owner and Towbes passed. Not the same for employees but still great service for the tenants and clients.

Towbes is going through internal changes, I was brought to manage securing the certificate of occupancies for a problem project.

The Towbes Group is a G.C. and they were working for the owner of a new 21 unit apartment complex in Santa Barbara.
The Towbes Group and the Owner were locked into an acrimonious relationship.
I had just completed a large for Sale Condominium project in Santa Barbara and was asked to come aboard as a Temporary Full-Time employee to complete the project, of which I did successfully, securing all certificate of occupancies.

A typical day is very fast-paced. I worked at a busy site, which I enjoyed. Just about every day was new and exciting.
I had a property management background when I arrived however, I learned a lot about the accounting and bookkeeping side of managing a site.
The managers are knowledgeable and professional. Our Senior Manager assisted and trained the staffs at the other sites in the area. She is very knowledgeable and professional, however, this often left us short staffed.
The workplace culture with the Towbes Group is very good. An associate feels that they can pick up the phone and reach out to another site if they should have any questions.
The hardest part of the job at the site I worked at was the size of the team. It would have been helpful to have another associate. Even a part time associate to assist with the package service we provided to the residents would have been a tremendous help.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the lovely contemporary community which was a joy to show. The Leasing Consultants are helpful and friendly. The maintenance team is amazing. They are hard working team-players with positive can-do attitudes. The residents and staff are wonderful.
