Good product and team but lack of ambition

The company was full of great people and we had good selling products. There was always work to do and as a PM you got to try on a bunch of different hats as it was a pretty lean corporate culture.

I think that the team did not want to push themselves out of their comfort zone of operation. With the huge advantages in front of us and as market leaders, lack of innovation allowed plenty of copycat companies to pop up and start crowding us out of our dominant product lines by undercutting us on price.

I think it would be wise to take more risks, although the brand is known for high quality products and user experience there is not enough innovation and thoughts on moving forward passed the next fiscal quarter revenue targets. Investing in long shot projects and big bets in the smart home business unit could lead to new and innovative revenue streams. Thank you for your hard work at keeping a relatively good culture around the office.
