decent, immature company. not the worst, not the best

-usually good amount of work to do
-i get paid every pay period
-i have learned some really cool things working here
-cool opportunities to do offensive security testing
-some free time to study and hone skills
-offers benefits, salary, 401k matching (graduated ownership plan based on time served)
-opportunity to learn a lot
-social engineering practice occasionally
-travel a lot
-I like everyone except 1 person, great working environment
-pretty much everything is peachy
-im happy to be employed

-pay is weak and everyone gets paid different. not always merit based.
-company will nickel and dime expense reports and turn around and waste 1000x+
-no maternity leave policy on the books (take PTO or no pay FMLA)
-only 3 weeks of PTO/year, no rollover, accrued per pay period
-some people are (unintentionally) culturally inconsiderate/ethnocentric
-99% Caucasian
-ISA salary range is competitive in La but only because who else is a competitor?
-Small time company delivers services to small time clients. they fill a need..
-Some mismanagement. Company is still trying to figure out what it wants to do.
-Props up unsuccessful R&D efforts with ISA services. Could have given us bonuses instead of wasting money
-i like working here, but I sure as heck ain't gonna die here! (and I probably would at our paygrade)
-travel a lot
-full of man children... Are all IT companies like this?

The only company that will hire anyone with no actual information security knowledge.

Everything else!
1. They will completely low ball you with pay and raises.
2. They spend too much time worrying about manipulating the accounting software for board meetings.
3. They've had 3 different CEO's in 3 years.
4. They've also had 3 different security directors in 3 years.
5. Middle is a management is a joke.
6. The benefits package isn't that great!
7. They have an extremely high turnover rate.
8. Training is non-existent.
9. The office building has constant maintenance issues.
10. High amount of travel to rural areas.
11. They don't fully support staff.
I could keep going but it would be a waste of time. Save yourself the headache and avoid this place at all cost.
