The location is awesome. The team always strives hard to do their best work. Management is top heavy. There are too many decision makers. Creative projects are challenging and fun. Creatives and Devs have a lot of opportunities for career growth. Management is very flexible and family-oriented. private:traction-2 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=103282 Jul 13th, 2015 12:00AM Open Open Traction Corporation San Francisco, CA Best journey of my career thus far Everything I had heard about the agency being a "hot shop" was absolutely true. I worked on some of the coolest projects of my career. The cherry on top was that I worked with some of the most talented people I have ever met. The culture is what you would expect at such a creative shop—relaxed and friendly, but ready to get the job done. The bar was always set high. With many independent shops, I saw a lot of growing pains. Over the years, I saw it transform some for the better but often times revert back to old behaviors and legacy processes that just don't work. And consequently, the work suffered as well as team morale. Part of this stems from a reluctancy to change and evolve. Another issue I saw was that there was little to no formal training or on-boarding to new hires consistent across departments. 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 2.0 4.0 3.0 103282 Open Keep rockin' it, but don't forget that change is a good thing and embrace it. 0.0 [{"countHelpful": 0, "languageId": "eng", "userJobTitle": "CEO", "__typename": "EmployerResponse", "originalLanguageId": null, "id": 1027656, "responseDateTime": "2016-09-15T10:24:13.61", "translationMethod": null, "response": "We will do our part to keep rockin' it. private:traction-2 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=103282 Apr 25th, 2015 12:00AM Open Open Traction Corporation Lead Developer San Francisco, CA Like dating the coolest girl all throughout high school but then breaking up because one of you had to move to Nebraska. Great people in every department. There's an energy within the organization that captivated clients and pushed teams to deliver their best work. The benefits were also competitive for a small agency. Their contributions to my 401k allowed me to put aside considerably more for retirement than I had planned. Overall, great people and great opportunities for developers and creatives alike. A lack in delegation from upper-management to team leaders caused bottlenecks for simple tasks like approving purchase orders and things of that nature. Use of third-party tools was overly scrutinized and requests often denied due to client discretion. Normal growing pains for an agency that grew 2x in size from when I started. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 3.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 3.0 103282 Open Work more closely with project managers and project leads on estimates and resourcing. 0.0 [{"countHelpful": 0, "languageId": "eng", "userJobTitle": "CEO", "__typename": "EmployerResponse", "originalLanguageId": null, "id": 1027665, "responseDateTime": "2016-09-15T10:32:37.55", "translationMethod": null, "response": "We've delegated budgets and created a Discretionary Expense Policy at Traction to alleviate the bottlenecks that, I hope, are now a thing of the past. private:traction-2 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=103282 Oct 9th, 2008 12:00AM Open Open Traction Corporation Creative Services Manager San Francisco, CA Traction was the best job I ever had. Great creative shop with excelent clients in a warm familial culture. Traction hires carefully and then grows their talent. The managerial team is always open to suggestions. The office is absolutely stunning and the culture is fun and exciting but not too stressful. They work hard of course when crunching deadlines but when things get slow as they sometimes do they are cool with employees having flexible schedules. Add to this the fact that they have a dual kegotator in the kitchen with regular beer deliveries and I must say it's a great place to work. They are a shop that does great work and treats their employees well. because we are small the benefits aren't that great. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 2.0 5.0 5.0 0.0 3.5 3.0 5.0 103282 Open get better benefits and offer better pay 0.0 [{"countHelpful": 0, "languageId": null, "userJobTitle": "CEO", "__typename": "EmployerResponse", "originalLanguageId": null, "id": 563353, "responseDateTime": "2014-10-29T11:11:07.117", "translationMethod": null, "response": "I'm thrilled that this person had a great experience at Traction. It means a lot to us. This review is 5 years old, but we've definitely listened to the advice given here. First of al, we do research for every new hire to make sure salaries are competitive.
