TGen has a family like culture, but a sink or swim disposition when it comes to performing your work. There is a lot of autonomy given to employees and most managers are down to earth. There are of course nuances here and there that can prove disheartening, but everyone and every institution has room for improvement.

Great people and work, bad compensation
|
TGen has a great, super friendly and very collaborative culture among the employees. Combined with interesting research and great work-life balance, it is a very exciting place to work at.
On the contrary to the work environment, HR and salaries are very unsatisfying. While benefits are good, people do not feel valued for the extremely important work they do.

TGen's culture is a large reason that they are able to retain great talent. Everyone cares about the research that is being done.
A typical day can vary widely, in that on any given day you will be working with every level of employee from Interns, Scientists, Department heads to C-Level executives.
The most enjoyable part of the job, for me, was helping the human condition. We were all involved and part of each discovery.

Friendly mentors and outstanding program. A professional ceremony at the end of the 10-week program with poster presentations is also provided for the scholars.

Good company to work for if you don't mind being underpaid
|
The company was a great place to work and they really are (or were) doing great things for the cancer research industry. Not much room for advancement and the pay (at least when I was there) is not very competitive. The employees are a great bunch to work with.
